Ribs on rice
Take a rack of ribs and cut them up so they will fit in your crock pot. Add a can of your favorite baked beans, then a half can of water. A can of Del Monte Sloppy Joe sauce. A finely diced yellow onion. 2 table spoons of Cholula sauce. A minced clove of garlic. Let simmer on low all day and serve over rice with plenty of napkins.

3. Pulled pork also works great in the slow cooker
3 pound butt roast
your choice of dry rub - I used Emeril's Creole Seasoning recipe
1 small onion chopped
2 cloves of garlic, chopped
1 bottle of beer (recipe called for root beer but we had a stale bottle of Samuel Adams Blackberry beer hubby had forgotten)
Some liquid smoke
Some molasses (to make up for the sugar that would have been in root beer. If you don't like sweet BBQ leave this out.)

Simmer on low all day. Shred the pork. Remove most of the liquid from the cooker, and put meat back in. You want enough liquid to barely moisten the meat. Add your choice of BBQ sauce, heat through and serve however you like.
