Top Chef Texas...spoilers...
I was glad they sent the one guy home for butchering the meat in the first episode. Or should I say NOT butchering the meat? He ruined the tenderloin for the other contestant and I'm sorry, but if you cannot cut a chop off a piece of meat you do NOT need to be Top Chef.

I liked the way they they are making the people compete for a jacket.

Are you watching?

2. I watched it late and in the background while I worked...
I wasn't paying close attention. Did some of them have more time than others? I saw a caption that said 60 minute team and I remember an earlier group having 40 minutes to cook. What was that about?

3. the last group had different times
they had 20, 40 or 60 minutes depending on what they picked. one of them had to do risotto in 40 minutes and wasn't able to get it on the plate.

4. I'm watching and annoyed (for non cooking reasons)
One of the Austin chefs dropped his dog off at the vet heart worm positive and abandoned her. The vet called and called, and he told them he was too busy to find a home for her. Classy.
She's up for adoption if anyone is interested.
I'm not crazy about the format this season- because it's TX we have to have more contestants? It's almost tedious to watch. Are we going to get to know the chefs?
