Who else has a child on Strattera? Or are you on it? |
|
I'm wondering how many have used it over the last two years, and if anyone had to discontinue using it because you got some suspicious liver function test results.

1. Omg I was just getting ready to post about this lol! |
|
My daughter has been on it a year and I just read something tonight about the liver damage possibility. We haven't had any issues but I'll be talking to her dr before I get her refill. She's taking a bunch of stuff for asthma too, and who knows how all this crap interacts!?

2. Well, and alot of meds metabolize in the liver, |
|
so I think it's a good idea to do periodic testing, especially if the other drugs are metabolized that way.
I guess you heard that Eli Lilly has told docs not to prescribe for people with liver damage?
Also, have you figured her max daily dosage? is she within that? (1.2mg per kg, according to the latest I read.)
Also, you can destroy 90% of your liver before you start to show signs. At least, that was what I was taught in nursing school.
And all this recent stuff about cox-2 inhibitors has me worried about the process of detrmining safety overall.
I have to say, Strattera was/is a miracle drug for my son who has Pervasive Developmental Disorder. I was cleaning out his underwear 2-3 times a day before starting Strattera. That was fixed in less than a week aftr starting it.
