Listserv software for Windoze
Does anyone have strong working knowledge of any robust listserv software? I tried to implement http://tincan.co.uk/phplist on my server, but their documentation of how to make this beast run on anything but a Unix box is minimal.

1. I'll go out on a limb here
And wonder whether the likes of Qmail or Postfix work under Cygwin. If so, you could try Majordomo or Ezmlm.

2. thanks
According to http://www.greatcircle.com/majordomo/majordomo-faq.html There is no known port of Majordomo to Windows NT, Win95 or Mac

It loos like http://qmail.area.com/top.html and http://www.ezmlm.org/ are exclusively Unix.

Any other ideas folks? I'm trying to have that part of a new site up and running today if possible.

3. Now I'm going to sound definitely loopy
Virtual machine:

Windows
|
+-VMware
|
+-Linux
|
+-Qmail
|
+-Ezmlm

Downside: VMware isn't free. But you see if it's worth it or not. Is migrating the entire machine to Linux out of question?

4. yeah, it is out of the question
I'm a web developer by trade, and have many sites running ASP (active server pages) scripting which is my core skill - such as it is. To move all those sites to a *nix box would be impractical.

I really need something that runs on Win2k. I fought PHPlist again today, and it crashes consistently in this environment.

5. You need a long-term detox program
- Learn alternative technology. (PHP, Java, Python, the more the merrier)
- Start developing new projects in alternative technology.
- When specific client needs site overhaul, migrate.
- Wait until your need for Windows evaporates into nothingness.

6. lol - not gonna happen!
My longterm plan is to relocate my butt to Mt. Shasta, rekindle my interest in flyfishing, and spend more time learning to relax - instead of learning another new technical platform.

In the mean time, I have enough of http://www.usvip.org/ completed so you can see what I am working on. I don't have time to fight a new platform in order to get this site up and effective.
