What good task mesh-backed chairs do you use?
Edited on Thu Jun-18-09 10:14 AM by Deja Q
I bought one from Staples, and when I got home I looked at customer reviews.

Oops.

Lots of complaints about the seat foam losing its density in as little as 3 months.

Other people had other complaints, but I don't know the whole stories and only the seat foam had consistency worth to make me annoyed.

Other chairs I looked at also had bad reviews -- including an otherwise nice $200 model, whose mesh backing would break free from the chair and dig into the person's back. Well, that's a no-go too.

Didn't matter what the brand was, each chair had something that enough people complained about to make me think twice.

No wonder Canon employees work standing... (search in GD archives)

And who is ultimately responsible for making low quality items that break within 3 months anyway?

The chair I bought, with some user comments - a shame, it seemed an excellent model. I don't blame Staples directly, but for $160 these peoples' comments are atrocious...

1. I read this when you posted,
and looked at the reviews. I saw a lot of good reviews. Is it working out for you?

2. I like my Office Depot "Quantum" Mesh chair
It has mesh seat as well as back and headrest. Everything adjusts.

Can't tell you about durability yet because it's fairly new.

But it's comfy for long term us (upwards of 5 hrs at a stretch.)

Got it at Office Depot, floor model, on sale, still very pricey.

But having gone through several cheapies I finally decided you get what you pay for.

helpfully,
Bright
