Help with Linux Wireless
(cross posted from the open source form as this is the place that gets most of the community eyes)

Near virgin Linux user here could use some help.

I'm trying to get my laptop to read my Belkin wireless card. I'm running PCLinuxOS2007. I found ndiswrapper and KDMS ndiswrapper in the repositories and installed both with their associated files.

Now what?

Do I have to place a pointer in the root directory? Some command called ndiswrapper -i <inffile.inf> ?

Is so, how?

Once this is done, can I jump off my ethernet and reboot with my wireless pci card?

Thanks in advance...OAITW

2. Thanks for the link.
I probably know far less than you about Linux. I'm totally unfamiliar with the syntax and basic file structure of Linux. After much angst and frustration, I figured out that ndiswrapper was installed on the system, so I simply used my CD-ROM from Belkin and extracted the XP inf files...viola...it worked without a hitch...I now have a laptop that I can use again as my internet appliance downstairs...no longer tethered to the office for my internet. I'm writing this post on this as I speak.

4. To those who want to do WiFi with Linux:
Beg, borrow buy or steal any WiFi device with the Atheros chipset in it. Expecially if your computer has the Broadcom chipset in it.

Trust me. Just use Atheros and the MadWifi drivers and all will be peachy.
