AVG, in its wisdom, installed the Yahoo tool bar during my last |
|
update. I don't want it and have tried everything to get rid of it, Any suggestions?
Part 2:
I have removed (5 days ago) Max Registry Cleaner from the add/remove option Control panel. The program still shows up in the Add/Remove but says it does not exist.
Every morning for the last 5 days, the darn logo appears in the tool bar and if I go to Task Manager, it shows that it is running. Of course I stop it but it keeps coming back. I have used CCleaner and Malwarebytes to hopefully get rid of this. NO go. The company refunded my money for which I am grateful. The Program was awful.
Anyone know a good un-installer that will get rid of this thing once and for all?

2. Thanks, I have Internet Explorer not Mozilla but followed the |
|
steps as they were pretty much the same.
Tools Manage Add-ons Highlight AGV-Yahoo Disable Restart.
It worked!

5. Hi, No Revo Uninstaller, do you think that would do the job? |
|
The logo is on the toolbar this AM and the task manager shows it is running. I cannot figure out how this is possible because even though the program is deleted
Also shows in the list of Install/Remove. Try and remove it again and get message that it doesn't exist.)
I am sure MajorGeeks must have Revo Uninstaller, I can download that if you think it will get rid of this Max mess.

6. I never saw anything about not being able to uninstall Max |

Registry Cleaner. Their info did state that they would refund the I$$ if I was dissatisfied and they have done so.
Depending on what is said today, I may try the Revo uninstaller per the question to me from Y/S. I do try and read info before downloading but sometimes the info is beyond my understanding.
I did ask the folks at BleepingComputer (software forum) about my situation and their suggestions were unable to help me with the software removal(Run MalwareBytes and CCleaner) and some there suggested I may have an infection. (??)
Posted in their Malware Forum 2 days ago and have received no assistance yet.
I try not to pester the fine folks at DU but I always receive quick and accurate info from you all.
Thanks
