Why does my ubuntu install keep telling me that I need more plugins for this page

but when I click install it tells me there is no suitable plugins available then we do the same thing again, aditional plugins are required to correctly display this page. I started with ubuntu 9.04 then upgraded with 9.10 beta. This was happening before I upgraded to 9.10 too, just so you know.

Is there any way to not have the bar at the top, or to hide it, that has applications, places, system and the others? Is there a way to make the bar at the bottom go away also?

Is there a way to turn off the file edit view history bookmarks tools and help bar in firefox?

Any help with any of these will help this old okie learn a new OS that doesn't have Billie Gates name on it. TIA

This is a little ways off for me yet but is there a way I can run my AutoCad in Ubuntu? I'm really gonna have to have that.

Add: I'm not able to install adobe's flashplayer and this was true when I had linux mint on here. The same with ubuntu 9.04 too

1. Update: I removed the install I had and reinstalled ubuntu 9.10 as a clean install now

and the feel is better even though I haven't had time to really check it out but it looks and feels good so far. The problem I was having is still there about needing to install more plugins and when I do comes back with no suitable plugins found and if I don't do anything the crazy thing will keep repeating that. I'm liking the speed of how fast du comes up, so far I'm impressed.


Forgot to add: I tried to play a youtube video and it says I need the newest flashplayer so I try to install it but not sure if It took as when I try to play a video it comes back to the same place, needing the player. Could it be having java turned off and if so how do I turn it on other in the preferences which I think I have it on. When I'm asked by adobe as to which version to install I clicked on the ubuntu+= 8+, is that the right on or do I need to us another? again thanks

2. Update. I have youtube up and running fine now, sound and all

but I can't boot into windows 7 anymore. I remember where it was I answered wrong during the install when asked about this but how do I get my option to boot windows7 again?
I can say a couple things about this version of ubuntu and that is it is a lot faster as far as the web in concerned than the windows 7 I have on the other partition and the big kicker is my sounds sound so much better with ubuntu.
Any help is appreciated

simply had to reinstall Windows Vista

The second time it happened (on a different machine), I tried something very simple and immediately recovered access to my Windows 2000 -- but I can't for the life of me remember exactly what it was. Since I'm entirely non-expert at this, whatever I tried was pretty easy and not very tricky

Don't get in a hurry. Think about what you're doing

I might have performed a minor edit on the GRUB boot file: why don't you start by learning about the file /boot/grub/menu.lst and reading the file to see if your windows installation is referenced in that file? If you're lucky, you may merely need to move some text in that file with a cut and paste

I might also have done something easy with a gparted live-cd

I've never used partitions. In the situation above, would it still be possible to boot into DOS?
