I'm working on a long-term project which entails converting a Word document into PDF. I have the software to do that, but I have a basic question:
There are quite a few steps involved for me to do this, and I'm wondering if it's possible to eliminate a couple.
I don't understand how computers work, but I've definitely noticed that, after performing the same step multiple times, things sometimes become "intuitive" and the system seems to pull up the folder, for example, that is being used most often for certain documents.
Rather than have to browse for the folder every time in which the PDF docs shall be saved, is there some way to get this folder to be automatically opened every time I'm working with PDF?
Thanks. :)

but I need to qualify the reply.
Some programs offer you the choice of starting folder ie Irfanview, MS Office. You set this in your options and thereafter, when you go to save a file, instead of being taken to My Documents or My Computer, your save dialogue starts in the folder you selected.
Unfortunately, programs are not smart enough to provide an unlimited set of save location options that change depending on which type of document you are working on. If you set the above option in MS Word, you will need to change it back when you have finished using the particular folder.
Now, there is a workaround for making folders easy to find. Google 'Free icon sets' and grab yourself a set of brighly coloured folder icons. Right click the folders you need to locate quickly, select properties and 'Change Icon'. This way the folder really stands out and believe me, makes navigation, especially when creating websites, a lot faster.
