My PS3 doesn't see my new NAS |
|
Edited on Tue Nov-02-10 01:03 AM by lazarus
So, I have a 1 TB network home media storage device, and the PS3 sees it just fine. I bought a D-Link NAS with 2 2TB hard drives (in a RAID 1 configuration), and moved all my data over.
The PS3 doesn't see the new hard drive. I told it to search for new media servers, nothing.
On edit: the network storage is wired to the router, the PS3 is wireless.
Any ideas?

the RAIDar program that comes on disc with the ReadyNAS?
If you do that on your computer, it finds the NAS and you can click configure to bring up the ReadyNAS frontview. Possibly it's something to do with adding the PS3 as a share.

I'll look and see if I can add the PS3 somehow.
Edit: I'm completely lost at this point. It's a D-Link DNS-323, if that helps.

I had to turn on PUnP or whatever on the NAS. Now the PS3 sees it fine.
But there's another problem. It seems that I can only go into so many folders before the PS3 won't go any further, so I can't see a lot of my files (for some reason, the NAS has nested a lot of layers of folders). I'd prefer not to remove the organization I have so far, but I'll do it if y'all can't come up with something.
