How do I get rid of malware?
Am using a new (2010) toshiba laptop with Windows 7. It's divided into three accounts and on one of them there is some of that damn malware that says the computer is infected yadda yadda. Can't get rid of it using Webroot. Does anyone have any good ideas for something I can download to get rid of this? I think it's called MS Removal something. Thanks much.

1. Spybot Search and Destroy and Malwarebye's Anti-Malware
http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

and

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/

There's several others, if those don't do the trick. Good luck.

2. I don't know that I'd recommend Spybot anymore...
The last time I attempted to install it from my flashdrive, before I gave up on Windows all together, the damn thing refused to install and the error message said "I love you". LMFAO! It was the freakiest thing I've ever encountered on a computer. But, ya know, it might be of help to the OP.

3. Thanks for the suggestions
I have contacted Webroot's support and if that doesn't work, I'll try something else.

4. do this
download and run "rkill" it can come with different extensions...but this program will shutdown known malware and virus functions aloowing you to run anti-malware and anti-virus programs without interferance.
After it has run it will show a DOS-like screen that tells you which functions it has shut down. At this time you can run and update Malware-Bytes...after you have updated go ahead and do a complete scan...
After you have run MB you can update and run "Superantispyware"...run a complete scan with this also and you should be OK.
Some othe programs to have and use would be CrapCleaner and Index.dat Anylyzer...
