Gmail locked me out, asking for birthdate/credit card info, etc HELP |
|
Hello anyone who can help me.
I want to know if anyone else has experienced this problem.
I just tried to log in to my gmail account and it asked for my birth date before it would let me continue. I don't provide personal info online, so I put in a bogus date. I'm too old to think about trying to outsmart computers, so I put in the year of 2000, and now Google/gmail is telling me I am too young to have an account. I'm 55. Google has locked my email account. The page that now comes up says that I must do one of the following to regain access to my account;
1. Provide a credit card number that will be charged 30 cents to prove I'm old enough. 2. Mail in my ID. 3. Fax my ID.
I actually CALLED Google. They are as worthless as George W. Bush. Kept referring me to their web pages. They don't help. I logged in under another gmail account we have, and that time it let me in. So I don't know if this is some sort of scam or what? Has this happened to anyone else? Is it legitimate? I am in dire need of my email account as my mother is quite ill and I need to be in touch with doctors/family. So if anyone has heard about this, please reply on here. I'll be checking back often.
Thank you. Dem
