1. What a rascal! My bad cat, Lola, is the same way.
She thinks nothing is off limits to her, even the antique china cabinet.

4. I see by the tschotkes in the background of your photos...
...that you're as much of a cat fanatic as I am! Aren't you afraid of your puss getting on the stove? Gabe hopped up on mine once, right after I had taken the kettle off the burner and turned away to make some tea. Thankfully, he was at the opposite corner from the hot burner, and the radiated heat was enough to scare him right back onto the floor, so he hasn't done it again. Those would have been some horrendous pad burns!

6. That was a gift
friends often give me cat stuff, I don't much care for all of it, a bit of overkill. But that's a nice piece.

Pad Thai seems to know not to get on the stove when there are pans up there. I would be concerned except that usually when I'm cooking, he's riding on my shoulders (I'm the best one-armed cook you know).

3. Gabe's showing off his leg.
He jumped up there so his leg would be eye-height. He knows he's purr-ty and wants you to know it too.

5. Actually, his hip had been broken and reconstructed...
...right before I adopted him (he was a rescue cat - still growing his fur back from the surgery when he first came to live with me). For several months after, he would stretch his leg out like that occasionally. I guess it maybe felt stiff once in a while. I haven't seen him do that for quite some time now, and he takes our very steep and narrow stairs down in two or three jumps these days.

This is how he looked the first day I got him...
