Hey - check out Miss Thang....

I called the shelter and their only criterion upon which the dog can be adopted is whether I own or rent :wow:

I told them I own and they told me to come pick her up.

Now I know people who have adopted from here and said their process is incredibly difficult, so they must be really full to offer her up like that....

Ooooohhh - I want this little dog so badly .....

Mr MB is going to kill me

even though there is only one little ounce of my conscience saying that. The rest of me is screaming "Go get that dog!"

13. It is, after all, a lifetime commitment.
I hope it works out for all of you. Trust Ms. Thang to work her charm then between the two of you--how can he resist?

I just showed the pix to little MB and she was begging me to go get the dog....She swears up and down that she will take all responsibilty for the dog. I told her she is going to have to take it up with Mr MB. So now it is two on one...

6. What a sweet little puppy dog
You are lucky to find such a cute little pup-reminds me of my little Lola. I got her when I saw a man stop a car and dump her out on a busy street and take off. She almost got hit by a car before I (and several other people who saw what happened and stopped to help me) could catch her. She is the sweetest dog in the world and a joy in my life.

Poor little girl. Good luck convincing Mr. MB that you need to rescue this dog. She really needs you, though.

12. I sent him an email tonight (he is in Chile)
and told him not to be mad at me if we made an addition to the family and that there was this dog....

I left it at that, let's see what happens.

15. **update**
Mr MB said no new dogs until our old girl Luna passes on...but I am still determined to convince him.

If this dog were in a foster home, I may not feel so strongly about it, but because she is in a cage, at a shelter that is thankfully a no-kill one, but nonethless not the nicest shelter around, I am anxious to get her...

Also, the shelter does not spay/neuter before adopting out :wow:

All of my pets have been rescues and they have all been altered prior to adoption, so the shelter wants a $175 fee, AND I would have to pay for her to be spayed.

I am going to call the vet to see how much it is, and if they discount for rescue.

21. She's an adorable doggie, malta blue. I hope Mr. MB will relent.
Here's a link to the Friends of Animals low-cost spay and neutering program. I used their certificates for two of my boys. You can check to see if any vets in your area accept the certificates.

MB - PLEASE go get her and give her the kind of life she deserves. Once Mr. MB looks into her eyes, he will melt.

18. I wish I could, but the shelter won't discount their adoption
fee and the spay is going to cost $250.

Plus, less than a month ago, several dogs from that shelter that were adopted out got sick with parvo and died.

My vet personally told me to look elsewhere because I could run the risk of making my other dogs sick, and really high vet bills. I appreciated her honesty...

19. It does not look like it is going to happen.
My vet suggested I not do it because the shelter has a history of adopting out sick dogs.

I can't run the risk of compromising my other dogs' health, especially my 15 y/o dog. :(

you agreed to adopt her?

She does look so sad and thin. I hope you can take her.
