Sweet Little Kagome has gone back to the Cosmos..... :=(
My Sweet Little Kagome died within a week of Casper. I have been devastated by her passing and have been unable to post this here. She was only a little over a year old.

You see she was a very special kitty. She was a feral kitty and I was able to tame her and her brother, Inuyasha and sister, Sango, however, I had been feeding them while their mother was still nursing them and I picked up Kagome one day and mama kitty took them away for a week and a half. When they returned Kagome was near death.

Because of this she was born with some kind of ailments that I tried so hard to fix. I was able to help fix her ears which had become infected and bent downward, I was able to pull the scabs off them and they began to stand upright again. Then she had a problem with her losing fur. I called a vet who suggested putting antibiotic ointment on the troublesome spots and that seemed to work. She also had goopy eyes that I would clean almost daily.

There were several times we thought Kagome wouldn't make it. But she began to show great signs of improvements.

I crocheted a couple of blue and purple rope strings for them to play with, Kagome preferred the blue one and I would hold it while she chased it around. We also made them a Jungle Jim that they loved to climb on. We have a lattice wall that is about 10' tall, Inuyasha and Kagome loved to climb on it as well. They also loved to climb up to our roof and chase each other around. We could hear them whenever we were inside and they were up there.

One time when I went out to check on them they had killed a squirrel and were eating it. Poor squirrel was halfway eaten before I had gone out. I called on my hubby to check it out and he thought that perhaps they had found it that way, but on further inspection we believe they had eaten down to its torso. They ate every bit of it. Very bizarre.

Eventually I got them trained enough that we let them come into our home. Inuyasha and Sango kept growing, however, Kagome always remained kittenish.

After becoming indoor kitties, I had some Alien ET's that I tied a fishing line to and we would play chase the Alien. Kagome was very good and quick. One of the Aliens lost its head, so we played chase the headless Alien. This all took place inside my art studio and laundry room.

Around Memorial day Kagome started showing signs of not eating. I started feeding her with a dropper and giving her water. Even though we didn't have the money we took her to the vet. He gave her an antibiotic shot and gave us some medicine to give her. She started improving within the week. We set up a recovery room for her in our bathroom. She loved the attention!

We had to go to the Texas Democratic Convention from June 5-8, I was a Delegate for Obama. We left plenty of food and water. When we returned everyone seemed just fine.

Kagome kept eating whatever we allowed her to have, and she continued to get special treatment. Our living area has a doorway that can be shut off from our bedrooms, so Kagome got Special Privileges and was allowed in the back part of the house.

She started sleeping with us and she loved it. Whenever I had to go to the bathroom she was always there. She would usually go to her litterbox and then come over to me to check out what I was doing. It was really hurtful when she tried to climb up in my lap, as her claws were sharp as razors. So to avoid the pain I would pick her up and place her on my lap.

She loved to give me nose nibbles. She also loved to sleep with us. One of our other kitties Kilala even became a good companion to Kagome. Even tho Kilala would hiss at her, Kilala loved to give Kagome kisses, as did her brother and sister. Everyone loved to kiss on Kagome.

Then one week to the day of Casper dying Kagome died. She wasn't eating and she couldn't even lick the water I tried to give her with the dropper. She had a bowel movement that got stuck and we had to remove it for her. At this point she lost the ability to stand, and we suspected a stroke or seizure. Hubby started to do research when I told him that I thought she was dying. Her breathing had become very slow and she couldn't stand up or raise her head. I held her in my lap for several hours and then we laid her on the floor. Sango and Inuyasha came over and said their goodbyes.
We watched her having convulsions and decided to call the vet to take her in, but by the time he returned our call she had gone.

This was around 5:00 on the morning of July 4th. We fixed her a box and buried her under my bedroom window. Later that evening we watched the firework show from our street. I guess it was a good send off for my Sweet Little Kagome.

Unfortunately, we didn't let Kilala see Kagome's body (we have always done this in the past whenever one of our cats had died) but we were traumatized and weren't thinking straight. For a couple of weeks Kilala kept looking for Kagome and even voiced her concerns over what happened to her dear little friend.

I apologize for the long story, but this is the first time I have been able to write about her.
I have tears in my eyes right now from missing my littlest baby. I miss her so MUCH.

My heart aches for Kagome
My heart breaks for Kagome
Why did she have to go away
Will she ever come back to stay
My Sweet Little Kagome

I kept asking the Cosmos to return her to me. This has been done before with another cat I lost before. Hopefully "they" will bring us back together soon.

Here are a couple pics of Kagome. The first one is when she was still an outside kitty. The bottom one was after she had been allowed to live inside.

1. So sorry MagickMuffin. Kagome sounds like she was really special.
You gave a wonderful year, and saved her several times...and you allowed her to pass laying next to the ones she loved...
she looks like a lovely little girl...and it is obvious that you did everything that you could have possibly done to make her life a good one.

3. What a touching story
Bless you for giving Kagome a good happy home. Yes, her time was way too short but she got more love that she otherwise would not have gotten had you not made her part of your family. I share your wish that the cosmos return her to you. Rest in peace, sweet little Kagome.

7. Thank you Tammie
I tried my hardest to provide her a loving and safe home. I appreciate your help with asking the Cosmos to return her to me. I know if she wants to come back to me she will find a way. Hopefully it won't be too long of a wait.

4. I'm so sorry MagickMuffin
 There are no words to ease the pain of such a loss. I hope the good memories you have of Kagome will takeover the sadness. What a sweet little girl. RIP Kagome, sweetie.

8. I do have a lot of memories
I was able to get some video footage when Kagome, Inuyasha and Sango were still wild little things. I haven't been able to review it just yet as the pain and sorrow has prevented me from watching them. But before too long I will want to see her again as the playful little kitty that was Kagome. She was able to hold her own back then, but her brother and sister grew so much bigger than her that they overpowered her, and she would cry out when they got to rough. I would protect her as much as possible.

She loved sitting in my lap. If Kilala wanted in the living section or the tea kettle would whistle I would carry Kagome with me. My hubby always laughed at the sight because I would cradle her by her torso and her legs would be dangling downward. He thought that was the funniest thing to see. She didn't seem to mind at all.

9. I'm so sorry for your loss of Kagome.
I lost two kitties last year - it's heartbreaking. I'm glad you were able to be with her when she passed. I'm sure the Cosmos will reunite you somehow.

12. I'm also sorry about your two kitties

I sure hope your right about the Cosmos reuniting us. I had a dream the other day about Kagome. In one part of the dream she was locked inside my car. She was bouncing off the walls as it was incredibly hot inside. I didn't realize she was inside, I felt horrible that she was inside my black Firebird.

The other portion with her in it we were walking around the neighborhood. We were walking door to door, Kagome, Sango and me. At one point I got to pick Kagome up and carry her.

15. I'm so sorry about Kagome.
It sounds like a love filled year; what a lucky little cat!

Tears will leave no stain.
Time will ease the pain.
For every life that fades
Something beautiful remains.

But my other kitties try their hardest to give me as much lovin' as I will allow, which is all of it.

Thank you for the lyrics, roody:hug:

20. I'm also sorry for your loss

The cycle of life just seems to get in the way of our joy and happiness.

Kagome's passing and Casper a week before that just smacked me hard. I haven't been able to handle the whole issue of losing my girls.

Poppy (Casper's companion) seems to be so lonely. I wish I could get another goat friend for her but at the present time doesn't seem like a good ideal. Goats from what we researched don't have that long of a life span. I discussed the possibility of getting Poppy another companion and then finding the newbie a new home after Poppy passes, but I'm not sure how Poppy would relate to a new friend. Poppy and Casper were together since birth. They belonged to my FIL, after he died we brought them to live with us.
