Help. I've been adopted by a cat. |
|
We have a couple of stray cats that hang around the neighborhood. I noticed a young black and white cat hanging around for a few weeks. She seemed like she wasn't quite as wild as the others, but I couldn't get close to her.
Well, a few weeks back, I was unloading the groceries from the car and she came running up to me like she was so glad to see me. My heart just melted. It took me a couple of hours to get her to come to me so I could pick her up. She actually had a collar on her. Somebody cared at one time. She's a love and my Pom just loves her. She'll charge him and he turns in circles wondering what the heck is going on. They take turns washing each other's faces. So cute.
I've got to get her spade. I've been laid up for a while with a knee surgery. She's been in heat twice in the last few weeks. (She's got the loudest yell I've ever heard). It's been 30 years since I've had a cat. Does all this stop once she's been fixed? Thanks.

1. Getting her spayed will stop the yelling. |
|
Few things are as loud as a cat in heat, but the operation will take care of that. Fortunately. Congratulations on becoming owned by a cat.

She knew who to pick for a new home. Good for you for taking care of her.

6. That's how the domestication process has worked for thousands of years. |
|
A random given cat says, "Hey, that human over there is appealing to me. I don't know why, I just feel a vibe. I bet I can train it."
They "domesticate" US, not the other way round.

7. They're the only species on the planet that likes us |
|
Cats have been known to adopt other apes in zoos, developing extremely strong companion animal bonds with them.
Dogs have to be trained to accept us. Cats just seem to do it naturally.

8. You need to take her in and find out if somebody cared enough |
|
to microchip her. She might have an owner somewhere who is wondering what happened to her.
Chances are very good she's your kitty, though.
