Need low-fat dry cat food suggestions
:hi:

I had to take kitty Jules into the vet yesterday. She had foam running out of her mouth and was running around all excited.

So, I called up the vet and they told me to bring her in right away. Luckily the #1 vet was there and checked out out and noted a slight fever. He gave her a shot of antibiotics and suggested I feed her a dry food that is not more that 11% fat content. She weighs 12.25 lbs. total right now. The last time I was there with her she weighed 8.5 lbs. and was 9 months old.

I checked the food I've been feeding her and it is 21% fat! Yikes.

Otherwise, Jules is ok and it seems she had chocked on some food while eating.

Thanks for any advice of types of dry cat food that she might like. :)

1. Try Wellness Healthy Weight.
It's about 8% fat, and uses only human-grade ingredients.

2. thanks
I'll look for that. Maybe I can order it online (try a small bag).

I think she'll eat almost any type of dry food, but that is all she eats - dry food. I once saw her eat a tiny piece of cooked beef and a tiny piece of cooked buffalo steak.

I shouldn't complain - feeding dry food is a lot cheaper than the canned food. :)

3. no Wellness food here; got Katz-N-Flocken
Instead I bought here a bag of Katz-N-Flocken food

It says it is 12% fat; much closer to 11% as recommended by the veterinarian.

Has anyone used this cat food?

Replies/comments appreciated! :)
