had an oops this afternoon
Either he was not watching or there is a problem, but next we hear is a loud painful squak.
He lost almost every tail feather and hurt himself... so tomorrow off off to the vet we go. Am afraid he might need a little TLC... crazy bird.
By the way, ever since Tuky passed, he's not been the same. I know he misses Tuky, but for the moment the bird is sleeping and I know tomorrow most likely it is just making sure my "son" is fine.

1. Well got back from the vet |
|
he managed to do enough damage to require some pain meds... he got a treat since he was such a good boy at the vet.
And I am so damn lucky to have a good avian vet in town.

2. So glad that all is well. Guess mourning, even in birds, is a long process. |

You are very lucky to have a good avian vet; hell, to even have an avian vet, good or not. There aren't any in NOLA (I haven't found any), which I find odd since there are quite a few people here with pet birds.
I am sorry about his loss. Poor things get sad like we do. :(

with my vet, we were talking disasters... and one of his buds is down at NOLA.
Will give him a call or drive over and ask if they know...

5. THAT would be AWESOME! |

We have bird shows and vets come in from various parts of LA and TX, but no avian vets live in this area to my knowledge (or that of my vet), except the zoo, but I don't think they are 'on-call' for us rabble. If you find something out, please let me know, I'd be most appreciative!

He is about 20 mins (10 miles) (assuming no traffic because the only way to go is using various highways). I have bookmarked his page. This is wonderful information. Thanks again!

Ah one strange conversation and realize Avian vets are good, but not cheap. (Even if they deserve it)

10. I'm glad he's ok, and that he was a good boy at the vet's. |
|
There aren't many avian vets around here. Have to drive quite a distance.
