Dog ate hot dog and saltine crackers, is this bad?

well my dad thought it would be a good idea to give the dog a hot dog and some of those saltine crackers for breakfast of course she ate them because she will eat anything that isn't actual dog food x(. Anyways is this bad? What could happen?

1. Nothing bad will happen for now, but please don't make a

habit of feeding people food to the dog. There is a risk for pancreatitis (very bad), particularly with the processed meats. Also, our dogs learn to expect something from you when you're eating and then they beg...

But good luck convincing your Dad not to do this anymore - we all love to "spoil" our animals.

2. A lot of people use hot dogs for a special treat for dogs.

Neither hot dogs nor saltines will hurt your dog unless you make it a habit.

3. If your dog is not used to eating that kind of stuff

then you could get a doggie with an upset poopy tummy. Diaria is most likely. Some dogs may be okay. I agree with others that have commented processed foods and table food is bad for your pooch.

4. She needs a beer to wash the hot dog and crackers down.

I don't think it's bad. Hot dogs are not made from dogs so she isn't a cannibal, in case that was your concern.

5. Probably too much salt for him

so be sure to have plenty of water out and expect to empty him frequently before he's back to normal.

Dogs are largely omnivores and there's little they're attracted to that will actually harm them. Just don't give them chocolate, although a tiny corner off your brownie might be OK once in a great while.

Cats are trickier and should never be given anything from the allium family like onions, garlic, or shallots--those things destroy their red blood cells. They'll be uninterested in other unnatural foods and downright offended if they're offered orange or banana.

Dogs are remarkably resilient. After all, left to their own preferences they'll roll in poop, eat garbage, and drink out of the toilet bowl.

Just watch that chocolate.
