We've always been a "big dog" family . . . . .
Our GSD we call Big because, at someplace north of 90 lbs, she's a big girl, even for GSDs. Our Border Collie, Little, actually a mix, is also big for her breed, at 65 lbs. She used to be more svelte, but age and dolce vita have given her a bit of added girth.

I've always been a big dog kind of guy.

But now there's Little Bit, our 12 lb Shih-tzu rescue. She's Sparkly's dog. Seems Sparkly has always wanted a leeeetle tiny dog. I've always seen them as kind of cute, but fragile and high strung.

In the month that Little Bit has been here, she's shown me to be wrong.

For all her fru fru looks and for all the fancy groomed Shih-tzu show dogs, she's a dog. Small of stature, but huge of heart and personality.

She plays with the big dogs on equal footing. The riot is to see a 12 lb little shit of a dog chasing a 90 lb GSD, the GSD with tail tucked. She gets up *on* the BC to play fight with her. She runs in the yard and barks at the deer with the big dogs. When someone comes to the door, she's right there, defending her turf along side the bigs.

But her long suit is her personality. She's a clown. A scamp. In fact, between her size and her personality, we may change her name from Little Bit to Shrimp Scampi. Or maybe just Scampi.

Sheeza sweetheart!
