3. Gore was right about the war, and he did a good job attacking Bush |
|
Gore has more experience than Kucinich and Dean, and he would make a formidable candidate if he chooses to run without the morons he had running his campaign in 2000, including the insufferable Donna Brazile.
I would like to see Dennis and Dean run again. God knows we need to hear more voices such as theirs.

I love him to bits, but both Gore and Dean have the media kick me sign on them.

6. That's the mindset that gave us Kerry |

if we shrink from what we want cause we fear the corporate media then we lose. Again.
Seems to me Gore and Dean are pretty capable of setting the terms of the debate. Both will fearlessly call the media on their bullshit. I think many would applaud that.

7. I really think an attack on my mindset isn't productive |

You don't know if it is set, or not.
There are certain realities in politics, though, and one that we who are active enough to be considering the next run at the presidency need to realize that Howard did more to damage himself than the scream.
I like Al Gore a lot more now than I did in 2000, but the "Love Story", Love Canal, Internet inventor, "liar, liar, pants on fire" damage done to him in that campaign had to be one of the reasons he decided not to run this year.
It sure wasn't because I wouldn't have welcomed him as a primary candidate.
Who better to run that the guy who won the last election?
So, I don't know if your mind is set on Howard as the 2008 candidate, but there is more to it than his (or our) willingness.

If you think that civil commentary was an attack I suggest that maybe politics isn't your thing.

This is a forum for Dean supporters. You don't seem very supportive of Dean. I was under the impression disruptors weren't allowed in these new forums. You want to argue against Dean? Go find a Dean thread in GD. We are suppose to be able to talk Dean freely here without getting hassled.
And yes, consider it a helpful hint that if you think my first message to you was an ATTACK then politics ain't your arena friend.

12. everyone cool it... my analysis from the outside of this |
|
argument is that a new day believes Dean has no shot were he to run, yet he/she loves Dean.
I agree to a certain degree. Dean was wrecked by the media in 2003/2004, but I believe that by 2006/2007 he will be more liked because everyone will look back knowing that almost everything he said turned out to be true. He will have to take a gamble, and soon. Either run for the DNC, which if he wins, means he can't run in 08. If he decides not to, and Bush becomes popular and Dean has no shot in 08, his career may be over. In '12 he will be very old news.
JNelson was not attacking A New Day at all. We all have thin skin for attacks on our views about Dean, but remember that this is a Dean forum. We all agree that he is a great guy. We just disagree on what's best for him. Let's not eat each other.
