Democracy for America Group Check In.
Check in please. I wanna see where from, and hopefully also find some californias as well, and from my area would be even better, hehe,

Where are you from?
I'm from Tracy, Ca -central valley, east east east east east bay, hehe, near stockton, manteca, lathrop, modesto, etc.

are you active in democracy for america in the sense the you go to/have meetup/belong to a local chapter? if so give some info/insight. If not do you plan to?
I have not been active in that sense, but am very interested in becoming so. I do plan to, this is my main reason for this post, i wanna see where the members of this group are, and see if anyones even near me here, regardless, i wanna try and get some sort of democracy for america group going here locally, since when i did the search on the website there was nothing near, and they offer many ways to go about networking with folks.

1. You may wanna post a similar query in the California (state forum)

Dean has a lot of supporters in CA. I am from Richmond, KY (originally upstate NY). I can't go to meetups because they're in Lexington (about 45 minutes drive) and I have no transportation. I try to keep up what is discussed in meetups here and at DFA blog.

2. I'm from Colorado.
I go to meetups in Boulder when I can. I may be moving in the next six months or so, but I'll find DFA where I'm going.

5. Jeez Louise!
I wish there was a way to stop these "introduce yourself" threads from sinking.

That said: I'm from the beautiful blue state Michigan!

I have been going to meet-ups since before Dean declaredhis candidacy in the primaries. Now I go to DFA meet-ups. Sometimes I go to the larger one in a nearby community, but we just got a small one started in my county, and I think the peeps are ready to rumble.
I suggest you mosey into the nearest DFA meet-up (usually held during the first week of every month) and see what you can see. Try it, you'll LOVE it.

6. I'm in San Diego.
I went to my first DFA meeting recently. It was great! I definitely plan to attend more. I missed December, but heard there were over 120 people there.

Are you in CA? If so, I'll be at the state convention in LA as a delegate April 12-15.

9. cool to see people involved with dfa....
since this, i signed up with dfa and meetup, and i've gotten siveral others to do the same. I'm working on bringing dfa to my city, tracy,ca. I know people that would be interested, and i know im capable of bringing in atlest 10-20 people to a meetup. In the mean time, i'm gonna try and make it to the next eastbay meetup, and perhaps a local one around here stockton or modesto.

11. IronLionZion checking in
from Somerset, PA, attending college at RIT in Rochester, NY. I've gone to a few meetups but wish I had time to be more active. School and work take up too much of my time. It would be so much easier to just be a mindless dittohead :P

DFA is an excellent group and will be a vehicle for progressive change for years to come. This is no "flavor of the month" people. This is for the long term.

13. Ocean County, NJ here
We usually have 30 plus at our meetups, with many of us having come from the OC for Kerry group post-election. At last weeks meeting we decided to go to bi-monthly meetings because there's so much to do!

15. I'm Ma'at, and I go to the Temecula DFA in Southern Cal.
We are just north of San Diego. I have been to two meetings, and a election fraud rally (with my similarly-minded DFA compatriots). It sure has been a boost of positive energy in the arm, so-to-speak.

16. East of Cleveland, Ohio
The Cle meetups interfere with my other meetings and the local group is not too big. I am concentrating my efforts on a clean air program at the moment. cough.
