Jim Dean, Chairman of the DFA visits Asheville

Jim Dean, Chairman of Democracy for America (DFA), visited Asheville today to raise support for the candidates they endorsed: Robin Cape, Holly Jones and Bryan Freeborn.

The early endorsements and money sent to the progressive community via DFA has made all the difference in the world, especially to Bryan Freeborn, who started his campaign with almost nothing. It now looks like Bryan has a darn good shot at winning a seat on the City Council.

Jim related a antidote about how establishment-Democrats criticized his brother, Howard Dean, for stumping for a campaign for head Librarian in a small, out-of-the-way community. Howard replied: "Well it's important that we get librarians elected who want people to read books, not burn them."
