Two colds in two weeks. Any insights? |
|
Edited on Thu Feb-17-11 01:26 PM by BlueIris
Hey, I wrote insights, not medical advice.
I ask because I was pretty sure I had all my bases covered re: immune system, as per usual. Was keeping up with the Vitamin C, the zinc, the garlic, the probiotics. My nutrition this year has been better than it has in a long time and I've been getting a decent amount of regular sleep.
I am almost never sick, even in the winter, and I get super pissed when I wind up exposed. If anyone gets anything about where I was "weak," especially energetically, I'd love to know.

3. Frequent hand washing? |
|
I always wash my hands after grocery shopping and going to the gym. So far, I haven't gotten a cold this winter.

And that's frequent, not obsessive. I've also been doing less short term travel, to cut back on gas and waste, so I'm pretty sure that should equal decreased exposure to pathogens.
Grrrr. Good news is, the Herb Pharm Super Echinacea has helped speed recovery. But again, I almost never have to use immune-boosters like echi because I do what I can to keep my immune system healthy in all other ways. Irritating.

5. I find echinacea works for me. It boosts the immune system. I take |
|
high doses, around 1,000 mgs a day for a month. Otherwise, it isn't effective. Then I seem to be good for the rest of the year. however you have to find what works best for you and I don't want to be giving medical advice.

will now have direct effects upon our energy and thus our energetic shields against illness.
This is one aspect of what is currently occuring. Any extreme resistance to the incoming positive energy including any lack of self-integrity / self-determination is increasingly dangerous.
Edit: This is general for what it is worth for any to whom it applies. This is not a reading of Blue Iris. Sorry about any implied nasties, not my intention; I'm only talking about my own area of sharing.

So, what I just did to figure out why I got the cold was to write down possible reasons on a sheet of paper and then muscle test them to see possible factors that led to this. You could do the same but use a pendulum for yes/no. I haven't had a cold in a year, at least.
What I got (for me) was that I haven't had my weekly green drink in two weeks, I was out in the wind for a really significant period of time, and I used lemon juice in water instead of lime juice in water on the first sign of the cold. Apparently that wasn't good enough given the other circumstances. But your body knows the answer to this. You can also ask about various emotions as other people here have suggested.
I hope you feel better soon!

8. Bwah! I was just with my pendulum. I feel like I've asked about |
|
everything under the sun lately, except why I got sick. Brilliant. Okay, off to do that now.

9. Pendulum reports: Dry air. |
|
Other contributing causes: Benadryl. Both of thing things can suppress mucus membranes and make one more susceptible.

you might test if it would benefit you to have a humidifier, or to breathe once a day into one of those face steamers they sell at Walgreen's. I love using those things when I have a really stopped up nose, because they break up the congestion. So far my cold isn't bad enough to get that thing out. One thing that has helped me at night are those Breathe Right strips. Love those. At the beginning of the cold I had the feeling that I was energetically out of balance, but when I tested myself nothing came up. I was actually relieved when I got the cold, because that explained the symptoms--the yuk feeling and extremely watery eyes.
Try not to take Benedryl regularly. It got relatively harder to get Actifed here (well now WalAct) so my husband took Benadryl for awhile. (I am pretty sure he has had some pleomorphic bacteria in his lungs since he was a kid and had pneumonia.) He started forgetting conversations that we had. I was going :wtf: It was due to the Benedryl that he took at night. It lowers choline levels and is not good for brain chemistry. Now he is back to the WalAct. Here he has to show his driver's license and sign something to get it, since it is used for Meth production.

Have you been eating or taking any new vegetables, fruits or vitamins/supplements? Our bodies are amazing creations. I'm convinced they do so much to protect us against our bad habits, often w/o our even realizing it.
Could be expelling negative emotional build up. Have your done any "forgiving" lately? Could be the residue that no longer vibrates to your ascended body.....your body is "kicking it out".
Just my $0.02.

11. Since colds normally last a week |
|
and that's if you treat them, seven days if untreated, my first thought is that you have allergies. I know it can be VERY hard to distinguish allergies from colds, especially if it's "cold season" or you don't realize you actually have allergies.

13. Could it be allergies? |
|
I learned about 15 years ago that I'm allergic to many types of tree pollen. My allergy season used to last from early February to the end of April. Now, because of climate change, it starts earlier and earlier. This year I started feeling the pollen effects on January 9. Even though most allergy information says the pollen season starts much later, I did some research and learned that pollens like Eastern Red Cedar is one of the earliest pollens to emerge and can travel hundreds of miles.
Tree pollen allergies can mimic cold symptoms and lead to bacterial sinus infections. I looked back at old grade school report cards with attendance records and found that I was out sick at the same time of spring every year with what we thought were colds. In reality, that was the time in early April in NJ when the oak trees bloomed.
The pollen allergies now give me asthma. so I need to use prescription inhalers and nasal sprays from January through the end of April. The rest of the year I'm fine.
I don't know if this is the case with you, BlueIris, but it might be worth looking into. Good luck and feel better!
