Mars and Mercury Retro Experiences-- record them here!
Okay, here is mine so far: woke up yesterday so stuffed up I was dizzy. I think it is a really bad case of allergies but never have they hit like this. I am practically incapacitated. I've been laying about, reading, watching tv, sniffling, sneezing coughing, napping. i have taken Allegra and it isn't doing it's usual good job. I have locusts in my brain.

Next: I ordered a copy of TurboTax from Amazon yesterday so I could work on my taxes. It arrived a day early. When I picked up the package (it was in a padded envelope) it sounded like there are lots of small parts in the case. I didn't bother to remove the seal, just printed a return... and no, I don't need a replacement, just credit me thanks. *as if I'd trust them to deliver another dvd without the UPS gorilla jumping up and down on it first.

I think tonight is a good night to watch Tank Girl again. (Lots of Mars and Merc type retro with a little Neptune/Pluto thrown in-- and girl power!).

Good things in my life now: We (Dh and I)-- are still gainfully employed. The Dog is still with us-- she is a love!, The cat seems to have calmed down IRT the dog (the other day I found them in the same room, the cat sitting on the stairs and the dog lay on the floor, mellow). My son seems to be doing well--he is handing in his homework. I had enough money in my emergency account to pay the taxes NYS says I still owe from 2007 --( the amount they say I owe is less than what a lawyer will cost me to prove I don't, shysters).

Things I need to work on: Whip my diet back into shape. I'm a comfort food junkie when I'm sick.

and weather gods-- its about time for Spring to come and warm things up around here -- My 3rd power/heat bill that nearly reaches $400 has come and I'm pissed. I need some sun! Now! I'm running out of D3 supplements.

1. The only thing I've noticed is my patience is stretched to its limit
Edited on Fri Apr-01-11 06:48 PM by Kookaburra
I'm usually a patient person -- or I appear patient when actually I'm off on some mind amusement or another while I wait on others to catch up -- but today I have been past my breaking point with people. Sitting in traffic this afternoon I had what I think was a panic attack. My hands were shaking and my head started pounding and I broke out in a cold sweat. Probably not a Mercury thing -- feels more like Mars something or another.

(edited for poor grammar -- sorry)

41. I think it is Mars too, because I have been
so short-tempered! I feel like everyday I have one last nerve left, and the world gets on it in some way shape or form. I don't understand why, other than Mars, the little azzhole is transiting my descendent, and into my house of relationships.

2. merc retrograde hit me hard
and will be on my case I guess during my entire blood bank rotation. Not good.

My sinuses have been crushing me for 2 weeks straight now. Daily sinus headache. Wish I could spend the day with a hot washcloth draped on my face.

I'm having a real hard time with the indirect antigen screening test. The automatic cell washer is broken and they're using regular saline instead of blood bank saline solution to save money. As a result the wash cycle washes my cells away, so the cell:ahg:check cell ratio is all wrong. Gaaaah. 2 weeks into the rotation, I have to do 100 ABO/RH tests, 50 of them with IATs, and I'm so far behind I'll be stuck there forever.

After 2+ months of floundering, phlebotomy has taken a turn for the better. Somehow, my new schedule so far has the supervisor out whenever I'm in rotation. Everybody else is SO much easier to work with, so I've now had 21 hits, with only 2 misses. Phew. About effing time. I have 24 left to do to meet the 10 minimum draws.

Oh, and we got a SWELL mercury retro, April Fools MASSIVE SNOWSTORM today. Well over a foot of heavy, wet snow. It's still coming down. Every so often it changes to rain, and then back to snow. The good news is they sent me home early, and even with the treacherous driving I ended up with the entire afternoon off. Napped. My new favorite hobby that I rarely get to indulge.

Edited on Fri Apr-01-11 08:04 PM by AstroCat
Yep, I sure did. Now I have to hope that MR doesn't also screw up the IRS' process of cross-checking names with account numbers before depositing the refund money...or someone's going to get $745 soon, and it won't be me. x(

7. Today I had to fill out health insurance forms.
It was frustrating, it tried my patience, but I did it.

I have to be turned down by two insurance companies, which will happen because of my preexisting conditions. Then, I can get into the state pool. Our agent wants to help us get coverage and protection before June 10, when my insurance ends. She is very much in our corner on this. She already has one client who is losing everything because she did not have insurance. That is very scary.

I hope everything works out with this. I worry that something will happen with my health that will bankrupt us.

8. There were a couple of other things.
On March 28, my daughter was playing in a live concert on WFMT. Her name was mentioned prominently, and it was a good way for her to raise her musical profile in the Chicago area. Near the beginning of the concert, we were listening, and we had a phone call. I thought the caller was my mother, and then I thought it was a phone solicitor. It was not. It was a very shy woman from my husband's former job, and I was quite rude to her. I feel so terrible about my behavior.

She called because their foreman, who was loved by everyone, lost his wife. When the plant closed for good on March 11, my husband, who had planned his retirement, and the foreman, were doing all right with their plans. His wife had cancer, but was doing well. They went to Florida to visit relatives. She died a few days into the trip. It was unexpected. She was 64. My husband and all his former coworkers carpooled to the wake. They felt good about being there for her and for their foreman. It was a good send-off for a good woman. I can't explain it well, but my husband felt that there was closure for both her and her husband. She will be missed, and her husband will mourn, but it was right.

Yesterday, we went to a combination solidarity for labor/Wisconsin event, and a remembrance for Dr. King. It was sponsored by the Democratic Party of Dekalb. I felt good about that, too, and the people who attended. Most of them are people I have worked with for a number of years. The sense of purpose and the unity were inspiring. Things are frustrating right now, but I think we will win. Democrats and union members are more united than I have ever seen them.

I hear you on the diet. Something new has to work, because I am stuck!

10. For the last month I have slept a whole lot.
My allergies have me so tired that I am sleeping 12-14 hours a day and not feeling refreshed.

I got up at 8:30 this morning and figured out that I slept 24 of the last 27 hours.

And I did not go outside yesterday at all. The pollen and mold counts are very high.

11. These are not personal experiences of mine,
but in the aqua aerobics class that I teach on Thursday night, one of my regular participants was so upset because she had just got into a HUGE argument with her sister. I thought about Mars. Then my good friend who is on a national radio show on Friday nights came by this morning and was SO upset because the host of the radio show went ballistic on her last night for no real apparent reason..just started spouting off about all kinds of unrelated stuff to what she was talking about and basically yelled at her on the air. She was devastated but had to finish out the 2 hour show. I couldn't help but think of Mars again. Wow....

13. Roiling emotions today
and here I am just sitting around trying to work (and failing, evidently, if I'm posting here...) It's like waves pass over me from time to time, out of nowhere, and are completely disconnected from my immediate surroundings. A couple of hours ago I got a wave of joy/hope/love; a minute ago I was whomped with some sort of irritation/annoyance. But NOTHING is going on "IRL".

I caught some plague a few days ago that started with a vicious sore throat, then morphed into a cold. The icky bits only lasted a short time (two days or so) but it derailed my very strict (HCG) diet. I didn't know that our bodies retain water when we're ill...makes sense though. Now I'm waiting to flush the excess water and see where I stand, weight-wise, before I wrap up the low-cal portion of the diet and move on to the no-carb phase.

Interpersonally, some shit hit the fan last weekend. Wondering if a followup poo-flingage is in the works before all is said and done. We shall see.

15. I'm doing HCG
It's a VERY TOUGH protocol, but the results are PHENOMENAL. And the diet doesn't last long. This is my second round; I lost 21 lbs. the first time I did it in September/October last year and almost 15 lbs. this time. I've allotted 21 days to the very-low-calorie part of the diet this round, although I might go a bit longer because I'm five pounds shy of my goal weight and, dammit, I don't want to give up now! :P

I'll drop you a PM with the details and my two blog entries about my adventures from my first round. :hi:

17. Minor, but still annoying.
I've been struggling the last month or so with a work project; just can't seem to get in the groove with it. Last night I figured I'd close all my Word docs pertaining to the project in case the mysterious-serious Windows upgrade did it for me, and as I was closing a certain doc, was asked if I wanted to save changes. Thinking it was an old doc I hadn't made any changes to, I clicked "No."

Yeah. It wasn't the old doc. Dammit to hell.

an old Saturday Night Live skit where someone would talk about the weirdest/grossest/ickiest thing they could, and then finish the sentence with "yeah, I hate when that happens"?

I think we should answer all Mercury FUBARs with that phrase -- just as a way to lighten up the mood.

22. More daughter troubles
Edited on Sun Apr-03-11 08:17 AM by LiberalEsto
Daughter 1 emailed my husband to see how we were doing. First contact since the big blowup last month.
When he called her in response last night, she immediately launched into yet another long diatribe about how angry she was at us and her younger sister. She said she was considering having her formal wedding in Houston TX, and not inviting any of us.

Daughter 2 neglected to take a critical test in the one college class she was taking this semester. Rather than fail the class, she withdrew from it. Another $400-plus down the toilet. I don't know if she will ever finish her associates degree now - she has 2 classes to go.

I was doing better and calming down a bit until this stuff started to happen. Now I'm a wreck again.

24. It took my daughter 4 years to finish her associates. She decided that
having another child would fit right into the middle! I gave her money for graduation to do her unpaid internship and she went on vacation. she has pulled the withdrawal solution more than once and she made the Dean's list the rest. I empathize, LE.

One thing after another it seems, and she's my only child. I adore her, but she makes me nuts! I don't know how you survive two daughters! :)

23. more retro issues
my credit union is having a problem with slow response times -- says so right on the site. combine that with my normal dialup snail's pace...gaaah. Timed out twice before I was finally able to transfer some funds. But it did finally work, so can't complain!

Dumped ancient organic bird pellets that nobody likes into the scrap container in the sink -- but wasn't paying attention and really dumped it into the sink and a wad went down the drain. Didn't wash it through enough, wad sucked up the water, expanded and now my kitchen sink is blocked.

Last weekend I got a call re: my house. Called back and left message. Heard them call me back while in shower a couple nights ago. Finally did a *69 to make sure it was them and it's a GOOD THING I DID! Because it turns out I wrote the # down the wrong time and left my message with the wrong people  Well, at least now I know whoever called is reasonably serious since they called me a 2nd time. So will call them back later today. Not that my house is in condition to show.

Poor Luna somehow got "off schedule" and left a messy pile of the runs at 3 in the morning a few days ago -- I'm trying desperately to de-stain, but there is still a big brown stain in front of the door. 1 can of spot-shot gone. Another to be bought today. x(

25. Lighting up my 3rd chakra for sure... ugh
Been working on a 'EVENTS Newsletter' for work for about a week solid...11hour days. the first attempt was shot down and called 'amateurish' by the boss(sorry dude, you asked for 'folksy'). and the second attempt was not received much better. I am trying to explain publication and technique because i KNOW some of this shit due to a journalism background...and end up feeling like a little kid dealing with my father and questioning my own talent. :wtf:

I am still trying to figure out how to explain or get the point across that this isn't just a cut and paste project. I had to harvest information and photos from the internet, check with other local businesses for opening dates and spring conditions, and try to hunt down calendars... there's also the fact that the boss is desperately trying to get this done and distributed to his 5000 name mailing list because he is freaking out that we have very little business for spring & summer. I can;t be held responsible for bad marketing before i came onboard.
While i was creating this thing - i actually called the chamber and the visitors marketing authority and got them to give me advice and offer to help distribute the newsletter to a wider market. so i also knew that i was creating something for that audience.
When i told the boss that i had made those calls he said i had to stay focused on the task because things 'weren't getting done'
again, :wtf:

my boss likes to think he's in control and plays a lot of psyops games...so i really have to watch my space when dealing with him. at least the blowup that took place and the anger i saved till we got off the phone!
I actually ended up calling my former editor and asking for ego strokes! he talked me down and gave me some constructive advice on how to proceed. Give the guy at least 3 choices of layout, and go from there. that way he feels like he has the illusion of control, and I don't get attached to ONE angle on the project. It's hard being an artistic type dealing with a rational type...and at least my editor understands that we 'writers' are a different breed. and many just don't 'get' what goes into a good publication....

but ya, now i am onto attempt #3 and my enthusiasm for the project has waned as well.....

time to perk up and get on with it...

I found a photographer to take my picture for the awards ceremony publicity. I can't go, but my picture will be there. My friend will give the speech if I'm the winner. I'm getting ready to query more agents after the 23rd.

completely disoriented and panicky, as if something were terribly wrong. I have no idea why, but I felt as if something odd had happened, and I can't even describe what that was. I didn't feel like myself and it was as if I were plopped into this body with this memory - in fact, I woke up with a jolt. Just...weird. I felt very odd physically and mentally for a half an hour. Weirdest thing ever. I'm not on any meds, and haven't been consciously depressed or anxious, other than the fact that my mom is dying, but my guess is that I had an anxiety attack.

37. Time keeps sort of feeling like it's shifting...
things speed up and then slow down, but mostly there's a sort of exhilarating but exhausting feeling that time is being compressed, like it's rushing past me in a wind tunnel. Things are going so fast that I'm struggling to keep all the balls in the air and keep all the commitments and appointments straight. This is something new for me with regard to Mercury Rx; usually it seems there's a sluggish feeling of things being on hold, or obstacles to getting things done. This is like being in a batting cage with nothing but fastballs coming at your head!

Also, people are cancelling appointments and miraculously someone else pops up to take their place. Cell phone communications are garbled and dropped at crucial moments. Just stuff like that so far.

:)

-I too have suffered from severe sinus headaches & allergies the past week.
-Have had intermittent trouble w/computer.
-I lost my 91 yo aunt (Aries) on Saturday; she was a second mother to me.
-Monday a tornado hit our school. Had 1600 HS students in the halls in the dark (power out) for 4.5 hours. Cell phones saved us. (Never thought I'd say that.)
-Ripped off part of the roof of my classroom & impaled it into the trunk of my car.
-Car will be totaled by ins co most likely & I will be out a vehicle since it's only worth 4500 to THEM, but much more to me; won't come close to "replacing" it.

-Classroom is a mess (26 computers & printer) have to be dealt with. School opens back tomorrow, w/mess still in room.
-Will now have to get a job almost immediately after early retirement in May if I have to get a different ride.
-Son's girlfriend's truck seized up--she's w/o car, too.
-Stillll gotta get the taxes done......

No rest for the weary.

39. Never ending...
The Mr got a new defibrillator implanted and was so stressed out the week before that he wouldn't let me sleep. So I picked up a really bad cough and have had it for a month now. His defibrillator has never settled in and he hasn't felt right since. I also went to the doctor for something I wasn't overly concerned about and who sent me to a gynecologist who is talking radical hysterectomy after brutalizing me with a biopsy he hasn't even checked yet (just a little pinch HAH... meanwhile I've had cramps and bleeding for 2 days). The battery on the Mr's truck died abruptly but thankfully it wasn't the starter. The glass on our heat source, the woodstove cracked on Saturday night for no reason, of course the place to get a new one wasn't open on Sunday and it was near 0 weather so it was pretty cold in the house. This bothered one of the cats so much that she yowed and whined until it was replaced and the fire lit on Monday at dinnertime.

Is it nearly over? Thanks for the thread, I needed to vent a bit.

40. OMFG where do I start??
Started in shadow period: IRS sent direct deposit tax refund to my bank, they lose it. Can't get through to live person for 8 days after they DD the $$. So sorry, we have to investigate and get back to you, with a paper check. Grrrrr #1

Dropped my favorite toothbrush holder, a dark blue glass from France, hits the tile on bathroom floor. Toasted.

Found my HP scanner printer in the closet, wanted to take to work. On the way out to the car, I bobble the box and it falls on the ground, faceplate busts loose. Plug it in, cartridge rack is broken, TOASTED. ARGH!!!

Lost my contacts, just found them yesterday after 5 days MIA. Of course, I had ordered new ones already.

Dropped ANOTHER friggin' container in the bathroom, the q-tip holder. Again, shattered and toasted. Cat who shall remain nameless, gets into the bathroom today whilst I am at work, and half empties the Qtip container, I get home to shredded up Qtips strewn from the hall through to the bathroom.

Computer glitches, printer errors, software installation feck ups, you name it. My mother has had the same things happen, today she spilled root beer all over her steps. Folks I am not making this shiite up!

Good things: I am still loving my job and feel lucky to be employed with HC bennies. But I sure cannot WAIT until April 18th!!!! I have been so bitchy since 3/31.

:nuke: :nuke:   :nuke: :nuke:

43. Aw, honey. You need a hug

I hope things even out for you soon.

(had to laugh about the cat and q-tips -- my little guys LOVE q-tips. I can't even leave them in a container on the vanity because they have learned how to get to them and strew them all over the house. Cats! Gotta love 'em.)

46. thanks kookaburra
at least i know it is MFR messing with me, although Rick mentioned a Chiron return too? :wtf:

I have Q-tips in the oddest places right now, door jambs, window sills, etc. If she wasn't so darn cute, I'd make her pay for them. LOL. :hi: One day she got my motorola bluetooth, I saw her playing hockey with it across the rug, put a stop to THAT real quick!! Cats, gotta love them. Right now she is eating my hair, laying on the back of the couch.

:hi:

45. I HATE Merc retrogrades!
Or maybe it's the Mars influence making me more angry than usual. Anyway, my internet went down on Wednesday morning. It does this about once a month for a few hours, so I didn't get upset. It was my night off, I had to go out anyway, and I just expected it would be back up when I got home.

As I was leaving, I saw a big pink paper sticking out of the mailbox. It was notification from the cable company that I was being accused of pirating "extra" cable TV channels that I wasn't paying for and that an auditor would be visiting within the next 48 hours.

Just two problems with that: (1) I don't have a TV and haven't had one since I moved here over 4 years ago, and (2) I have all the paperwork showing I've never ordered anything other than high-speed internet from this cable company, so there's no cable wiring, no cable box, and no equipment remotely related to TV viewing.

Went to the cable company office with all the paperwork and they said someone would be at the house on Thursday. Watched and waited all day Thursday until after dark and no one showed up. Went back to the cable company today and was told someone was there but I wasn't home. LIE!! They then promised someone for this evening between 5-6 p.m.

On the way home, I went to the local cellular company and got a prepaid 3G USB internet connection, ready for immediate use. Then I stopped at a friend's computer repair shop and got 50 feet of cable ready to plug in to my nextdoor neighbor's modem if all else fails (or visa versa if they have a problem). Now I'm home, it's not yet 5 p.m., and I'm watching and waiting for the cable guy again.

I couldn't work last night because of this and that's not going to happen again. Once this mess is all straightened out, I'm switching to the telephone company's DSL. My computer guy uses it and says he's never had a problem.

Maybe, though, I should wait until after Merc goes direct again....
