I'm worried & scared

I've been having painful spasms in my esophagus while eating for the past few weeks.
It feels like it's being twisted inside out as I'm choking. I'm seeing our family doctor this afternoon, and I'm scared. He will probably refer me to a GI specialist for a barium x-ray and an endoscopy and heaven knows what else.

Tomorrow, I'm going back to the gynecologist for a followup to an abnormal Pap test 6 months ago.

I want to crawl back into bed and pull the covers up over my head, because after all the issues with my daughters recently, I feel unable to handle another blessed thing.

I don't know if this makes you feel better or not, but my mom had something similar happen to her a few years ago. They did an endoscopy, and found a stricture in her esophagus. The good news is they were able to stretch it out while doing the endoscopy and she didn't have to have any other procedures done. So far, everything has been okay.

Spasms in your esophagus could be something as simple as stress.

And the fact that you have PAP tests means that the abnormality was caught early. If it was life threatening, your doctor would not have had you wait 6 months for a follow up. The treatment process is very scientific and structured.

Yes, LE, you definitely don't need this right now! FWIW, the first thing that popped into my mind when I read what you wrote about your throat was "stress". But it could be anything, and certainly minor. My mom had the same problem that Kookaburra mentioned, and she had her esophagus stretched as well--no big deal.

And don't forget that abnormal paps happen all the time, and could just be false readings--a followup can simply mean double checking. I've had an abnormal pap before, and the followup came up totally clear.

I think that chances are very high that everything is OK, but it's better to acknowledge our concerns than to put on a happy face and bury them.

I know it is easy to become overwhelmed with fear, but sometimes our fears are, thankfully, misplaced. I read once that worries are like interest paid on a loan you migth never get. I am so sorry you are going through all this, though. :-(

The doctor wants me to have an upper GI series (ugh, the barium milkshake) and then see a GI specialist with the results. She pointed out that stress could be a factor, as many of you mentioned.

Here is another thing to consider. It sounds like your throat chakra is blocked - badly. Perhaps your heart chakra as well and the connection between what your heart feels and those words that need to be said. See the connection?

Are there words that have gotten stuck in your throat because they could not be said? What are you "choking" back?

Our bodies speak to us and when the result is as acutely physical as you are describing, it usually has been going on for quite some time.

Try to gently hold your hands on the area and send sweet, blue energy to the area through your hands. Get the words out - you can find a song that speaks your feelings and sing along, or write a letter saying what needs to be said and then burn the letter. Try some EFT (youtube) to help you manage the stress when you are trying to eat.

I will send positive energy to you for the very best possible outcome.

I have a feeling you will come home greatly relieved. It is so much better to follow up on our medical concerns, rather than stewing about them and worrying ourselves to death.

In addition to the visualization suggested, use your hand to "unscrew" all negative energy and entities from the throat chakra area. Then, for about three times as long, use your hand to "screw in" positive energy............

17. Just wanted to add the directions, at least for the way I was told to do this.

To unscrew (remove), go counter-clockwise. To screw (add), go clockwise.

Cele, I hope that this is what you use as well. If not, would you please explain the screwing/unscrewing specifics in your system. Thanks!

That I am the one in the household that uses the power tools? I sort of assume that people know how to screw in light bulbs though. I find it more descriptive than clockwise because people might take the perspective that they are looking at the clock rather than the clock facing out. So for anyone confused screwing in energy means the same direction that you would use to screw a light bulb into your body.

20. I'm rotten with tools. However, I did learn the...

"Right Hand Screw Rule" in physics.

In reference to the direction of the rotation, I think that I might have been taught differently, if I understand what you're saying. I was taught to remove/clear by rotating my hand in a counter-clockwise direction, and the opposite for adding positive energy -- my hand rotates in a clockwise direction.

I doubt it. I am probably just not communicating correctly. I'll try again. Suppose I am looking at you, and you have a clock on your fifth chakra. The clock is facing towards me, as I am looking at your body. I can read the time as if the clock was on the wall, but it is on your fifth chakra. If I wanted to put energy into your fifth chakra, my hand would go the same direction as the hands of that clock. If that is what you mean by clockwise then we agree......the same direction as if I was screwing in a light bulb into your fifth chakra.

Please be checked for a condition called achalasia. It can't be determined by an endoscopy, but after you have an endoscopy and they come back with nothing, you may need to have a barium swallow test. Achalasia shows up on that before the first sip goes down. Good luck. I know it's scary. :hug:
