So, I had a *really* interesting experience this weekend.

Quite randomly on Friday afternoon, I wandered into a friend's bookstore because it had a sign reading "Psychic Today" on its window.

As some of you know, I have had continually frustrating experiences with psychics over the last few years, so much so that I had pretty much sworn off of getting readings from anyone who wasn't myself or a close acquaintance. And the decision to walk in that door felt totally spontaneous.

But...this lady wasn't a psychic. Turns out she's something called a "breathologist" or breath work specialist. Despite the fact that my initial intention was to try to get a reading about one question that's been bugging me lately, (she also does Tarot) she and her partner convinced me to do a breath work session instead.

It was...weird. Or, rather, it consisted of techniques that would normally be too weird for me to even consider doing--even though all it involved was sitting in a special ergonomic chair for twenty minutes doing deep breathing while Nice Lady cleared out energy blockages. Still, I went along with it because she seemed, er, concerned about me.

Afterward, she admitted that she was concerned, because she said I had an absolute ton of negative energy stored in and around the throat and solar plexus chakras. This was a surprise to me because of the terrific long distance energy clearings I've received from people here, and because I had not personally picked up on having energy problems in those chakras (anymore.)

She also mentioned sensing enormous apathy on my part, which I have been struggling with since 2010. She said she was less worried about my feelings of ennui than she was about the backlog of energy, though, which, as she put it, was "enough to blow the walls off buildings."

Heh. Did I mention this is not usually the kind of reader I work with? Typically, these kinds of melodramatic statements turn me right off--and make me question the professionalism of the person I'm working with. However, I woke up on Saturday morning feeling a lot better in a significant way--no headache. For the last several months, I've had terrible, terrible headaches in the morning, mostly because I spend a lot of time clenching my jaw at night. Not so much on Saturday. Or today. Which is a great development, particularly considering the breathologist only wanted $20 to do the clearing (a bargain basement rate in our area.)

I even went back today for touch up work, and will probably do a ninety minute session when she returns to our area next month. If anyone in this forum is interested in breathology, I can now recommend it.

Never done breathwork but definitely a believer, here!

Did you know there is even a gadget that guides breath in order to lower blood pressure? I think there are studies showing that it works! It is fairly popular and effective. Breathing deeply through to the diaphragm is extremely important. I think you just gave me an idea for a new slideshow, LOL. Thanks!

4. My husband has one of those blood pressure lowering breath machines.
It has helped quite a bit, has had it for about 6 months; you must use it everyday. He's hoping to avoid the bp medicine.

9. my daughter actually has one
She has white coat syndrome. It works great for her. I'm sure she would have been prescribed medicine but for this device. It lowers her blood pressure immediately. I actually tried the thing, but didn't like it at all. She loves it. She doesn't use it all the time, but I am not sure that she needs to.

I really hate it that doctors' first reaction to high blood pressure is medication, when this and other devices can work so well for so many.

Sounds like this was perfect for you, BI. Glad it worked. And the price was right! Definitely keep up the therapy--get the most out of it you can. :hi:

3. I've kind of been wondering about the timing of it...
I have not, I repeat, not been having self-destructive thoughts, engaging in non self-respecting behavior or otherwise behaving in a harmful or unhealthy way...but who knows how much longer it would have been before that explosion happened?

I have been running on a very short fuse lately, and engaging in some not so positive thinking re: other people's fortunes. Like getting the sense that the PIC I hate down at the local organic food mart is going to get fired this fall and thinking, "Good." Not very compassionate. It was probably only a matter of time until I turned that energy on myself.

breathing and energy clearing, never heard of it done this way before either. But heck, if it works...why not?

glad you have some relief from your headaches too! good luck with more healing! :hug:

7. Day 3 of no headache.
Well, not from clenching my jaw anyway. ;-) General Discussion on the other hand...great headache inducer.

8. I remember NAET clearings used the breath
as well as the spinal points.

The person would take a deep breath in and hold it (practitioner stimulated points on each side of spine).

Then release the breath (practitioner stimulated points on each side of spine).

Then pant (practitioner stimulated points on each side of spine).

Then regular breathing (practitioner stimulated points on each side of spine).
