I need some advice. I made some compost tea. |

I collected my veggie scraps all year and dutifully dumped them in my big black composter in the backyard. When spring came, I added water and stirred. the second time I did it, a great blast of heat and "steam" came up from the composter. Great! It works!
Now, a few weeks ago I took a few shovelfulls of that lovely black stuff and put it in a 5-Gal pail and let it "steep". Every day, I aerated it by pumping air from a bicycle pump, sometimes 4X a day. I left it going for a week.
A few days ago, I strained the mixture through an old towel and got about 4 Gallons of compost tea.
My questions: Did I do it right?
And - What is the best way to use ans store compost tea?
Thanks all.

Looks like you've done everything right. The only problem? It's not something that should be stored. http://www.dep.state.pa.us/dep/deputate/airwaste/wm/recycle/Tea/tea3.htm
