trying to identify tiny bugs on my tomato |
|
they are small as aphids, but round. They are light tan color and don't appear to fly or hop. (altho I guess they fly, otherwise how'd they get there) Other than some bottom leaves which are curling my plant is fine. It is a ramapo tomato in a big pot. if anyone has a chart of bugs where I might find a pic of this guy I'd appreciate it. On another list, someone told me it was a good guy, eating the bad guys, but I haven't yet gotten a name for it.
thanks,

2. Sounds like a scale insect to me. |
|
Round, doesn't move. Are there any visible legs, wings, or antennae?
Scale insects wouldn't show any of the above, so if you see any of those, its not scale.
A photo would really help.

often you do not realize the harm is being done until it is too bad to remedy. But you are right, if the insect can be ID'ed and it is verified that it is not harmful. I personally love most of my insects.
