What can you tell me about these cell signal boosters?
http://www.wilsonelectronics.com/Products.php?Type=B

We live in a house that is a cell phone hell. Sometimes cell phones work and sometimes they don't. There are cell towers not far from our house and one cell service claims it has a stronger signal in our neighborhood than any other local carrier. But we still drop calls and don't even receive them at times.

So I keep getting email ads about this booster and wondered if it would be worth buying.

1. They're bogus.
Here's a pretty neat page where a guy tested them carefully.

2. I am not talking about those sticker boosters
I mean the busters you put in your house that supposedly improve the signal in your entire house.

3. LOL, I'm sorry.
I saw "booster" and "e-mail" and didn't think you could possibly be referring to anything else! :)

Following your link, that actually looks pretty legit.

4. Thanks! I need one of these.
I'm in Alexandria, Egypt so I don't know how much of this is applicable. But I have exactly the same problem in my apartment.

I practically have to hang out of a window to complete a call. And just like you, some people call and I never get any indication. Not a "missed message" flag or anything.

The weird thing is: I'm right next door to a big hotel with excellent coverage for my service.

Part of the problem may be my apt. building. It's 20 fugly stories of drab concrete, built to a Russian design. The damn building would look right at home in Moscow.

(I just know some wise-ass is going to ask if I feel right at home, because I'm an atheist.)

I called the cell phone carrier (Vodaphone). They said they would install their own booster, if they got more complaints from the building. So I'm working on that.

I've checked Radio Shack and Egyptian electronics stores for something exactly like that Wilson box, but so far nobody has had one.

Thanks for the tip. I'm scheduled for a trip to the U.S. before long and may try to get one of those.
