The only reason why that idea sounds like bullshit is because our Western modality seeks to separate humans from nature through holography.
There are shamans who agree--Shamans! They must have a better grasp of objective reality because they aren't tied down by rationalism and objectivity. They literally converse with plants and are given guidance.

OK, I'm not up on woo-speak, I guess. Here in the real world, wouldn't that mean - "separate humans from nature through the process of using two laser beams to create a 3-dimensional image?"
I think the writer meant something based in the word "holistic." But as is usually the case, it's not clear.
