1. P.T.O. baby!
I can't begin to remember how many hours I blew on that game. Boy it was a fun game though. Which reminds me, there is a P.T.O. IV out for the PS2, must....resist.....urge....to....buy.......

2. Rot3K, Gemfire, Legacy of the Emperor, Aerobiz, Aerobiz 2...
Nobunaga's Ambition, Lord of Darkness (another Nobunaga), Inindo, P.T.O., Uncharted Waters, Uncharted Waters 2, L'Impereur, Liberty or Death (though not that much), Genghis Khan (though not as much), Brandish (i think they made this one), etc.

Rot3K (sorry, Romance of the 3 Kingdoms) has a great update in 7 and 8. they are actually well done enough to be part of the 5 games needed to justify buying a playstation 2 for me.

There needs to be another Gemfire, Aerobiz, and Uncharted Waters. i never got the nobunaga games... after Rot3K the nobunaga games just seemed... weak. just plain ol' build up-go to war-lather,rinse,repeat. Lord of Darkness was an improvement, but the tea ceremony and castle building did little to the game. culture was huge, but only smart and charming generals and ridiculous amounts of money burnt in tea ceremonies and accessories got anywhere. usually nowhere as good as romance.

3. All of those except Gemfire, Lord of Darkness & L'Empereur
though I could never play PTO but for minutes at a time. It just cut too close; I suffer empathy overload.
I didn't like Liberty or Death too much either. I was nuts about all the ancient games, and crazy mad about the music on the original version of Nobunaga's Ambition, or at least the Nintendo version. I also played Genghis Khan through the year 2000 or so, manipulating the succession so that the new king always had a silly name like Ralfon. I am undoubtedly the king of too much time on my hands.

5. Rise of the Phoenix, played it?
i always wanted to, it was about a time earlier than the 3 kingdoms period. if i remember correctly it was about the founding of the han? or was it the founding of the zhou? came out on the snes, but i never got a chance to play. did you? because you seemed as crazy about the ancient games that i was. i always wished they could've done a Silk Road/South Seas, age of Tang Dynasty, game, either that or something involving the unification of the subcontinent of india or the rise of empires of songhai, ghana, or mali in africa.

now koei is all about goofy action games. whatever keeps them in the money, i guess. crimson sea 2 seems interesting so far, but seems more like dynasty warriors in the future *now with more violence!*. maybe it'll get better later.

4. I didn't know they had been in business for that long.
I *LOVE* Gitaroo-Man for the PS2.

6. Great, now I'm going to have that song stuck in my head all day...
Other great PS2 KOEI title - Mystic Heroes. Yes, as it sounds, it is unbelieveably cheesy, (or maybe, i think, the dubbing is just awful) but it is stragely addictive.

8. They also made Gitaroo-Man for the PS2
What a wonky game that was. Still, there are a few songs in it that are kind of cool.

My personal favorite tracks are "Born to be Bone" and the final stage, "Resurrection". The name of the group that wrote the music for the game is Coil, if anyone cares.

9. A handful of them.
Brandish
Genghis Khan
Rot3K (2-3 I think, though it may have been 3 and 4)
P.T.O. 2
Bandit Kings of Ancient China

Here's a cool site where you can still get some of them (legally even).
