Okay, who here was completely disappointed by Fable? |
|
That game was supposed to be as big if not BIGGER than Morrowind.
Project Ego was supposed to change how games were built and played. It was five years in developement for christsake!
It took me a total of 7 hours to get through the whole thing and 5.5 hours to get through it again as an evil dude (which was much more fun BTW).
You know what I think it was? I think that they lost budget and had to chip and chip until it became so linear that it was almost unplayable.
I should have rented it first like I usually do. I'm such a DUMMY!

1. I thought it was pretty cool... |
|
But,yeah, definitely way too short. I also hope that if and when a sequel is made, Peter Molyneaux at least TRIES to make it difficult. I never even came close to dying. But I did like the combat system a lot.

I was able to get 20 hours of playing time out of it. (But I'm kinda obsessive-compulsive in the way I play RPGs. I need to scour every nook and cranny and find everything.)
I was also extremely disappointed by the final battle sequence. It was totally lame.
But other than those two problems, I thought it was a good game, and I enjoyed it while I was playing.
I did read that they ran out of time and had to ditch some stuff. Apparently there was a quest involving a dragon, which was scrapped.

3. A quest involving a dragon huh? |

It probably would have been better than that Kracken we had to kill. That was just pathetic.
Maybe the thing that bothered me the most was having to load every little section of the game. It really chopped up the action. Merchants would just disappear once they went through a gate, in every section you knew where the bad guys were going to be, and the fishing...oh GOD please!...My guy is the evil master that lords over all and kills all who cross his path and there he is, standing in his ultra-evil looking armor and fishing? I don't think so.
Also being jailed and tortured and running that race, just that whole thing was really dumb and slow as hell!
Oh well. I'll play a few hours of Baldar's Gate 2 and get over it pretty quickly.

i really liked it though. there's a whole bunch of stuff you can do though. i did pretty much every possible side quest, i tried my hand at doing all sorts of things.
list of things i've learned since fable:
1.) you can't get kids drunk no matter how hard you try 2.) you can't kill said children 3.) no matter how many times you have sex with your wife, she won't get pregnant 4.) kill your sister 5.) watch the credits so you can continue playing

You can continue playing with the sword you get during the final confrontation.
But here's the thing: The game is really boring when you have a kick-ass weapon and no quests to do.
