Alright, here's what's annoying the sweet bajeezus outta' me... how do we know what we're looking at is actual gameplay or simply 3D rendered cutscenes and movies? Because if most or all of this stuff is simply cutscenes and movies, I'm not impressed...
If you don't know what the hell I'm talking about, head on over to www.gamespot.com for E3 coverage.

1. when in doubt assume rendered cutscenes and movies. |
|
honestly, when was the last time you saw a game's ingame graphics come even close to the hype spewed by "1st glimpses, rumors, etc" from electronic shows and magazines?
yeah. it's that rare.
the gaming world is comprised 1/5 talent, 1/5 labor, 3/5 smoke, mirrors, and hype -- and the community is comprised of a majority of dumbasses who still buy it after all these years. and i'm tired of reminding tweakers wanking off to the latest 5 sec. clip that some game is months (if not a year or two) away and most likely won't live up to such overblown expectations. whatever, bloody wankers deserve having their chain pulled.
ps: i'm not impressed either, until i see the systems out for sale and really delivering something worth buying.

2. Have you seen the Final Fantasy VII tech demo? |
|
http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/rpg/finalfantasyvii/index.html?tag=mp_2to9It's a recreation of the original FFVII intro done on a PS3. When the game came out on PS1 the intro was pre-rendered CGI, but this PS3 tech demo is apparently rendered in real-time, ie. it shows the potential for actual gameplay graphics.

5. Here's what Nintendo's Miyamota had to say... |
|
Miyamota is the game designer that created Mario Bros, Donkey Kong, and Zelda.
Besides pooh-poohing longer games, Miyamoto also bashed Sony and Microsoft's flashy PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 demos at last month's E3. "Most of what you're seeing are not even the first projections of games," he said. "They're just shiny computer graphics. They're things anyone using a computer can do."

6. Which places a whole new light on Nintendo's whole E3 presentation. |
|
I simply couldn't believe Nintendo "didn't have more there than they did". Now I think I know why that was the case.
They didn't want to show people things they quite literally will not be seeing.
