Do you subscribe to Computer gaming world?
I have a question for you. The last issue I received the DVD had been opened and then stuck back into the glue that held the envelope together. I was not able to clean it up enough to use it. I never received my March issue and have yet to see the april issue which usually is here by now.
What do you think is going on with the missing issues/damages? Should I go talk to the postmaster about it?

1. CGW...Yeach!
Not a fan. Not in the least. I miss a magazine that stopped a few years ago called PC Acelerator. It made me laugh...sort of like Maxim and CGW combined.

3. I haven't read it in a year Jay...finacial problems
One of my fellow PC Volunteers sisters was an editor. I don't recall it as being overtly RW, just testosterone based stupid humor...with the occasional wit thrown in.

Are they really that RW these days?

7. They've had some excellent articles that were
blatantly anti-Bush. The story of the troops' lack of basic armor was very good. The political slant of Maxim doesn't seem so apparent to me. Other than the poop and sex jokes, it seems pretty neutral, politically.

6. Computer Gaming World is awful
The layout seems designed by a 3 year old with Crayola markers. The colors aren't consistent, the writing isn't at all engaging, and the sections seem different in every edition. This year, their "Game of the Year" edition consisted of "We decided not to pick the Games of the Year. Instead, here are the editors favorite games." What a joke.

I often can't tell the difference between the horribly loud advertising pages and the extremely loud content pages, and many pages are nearly impossible to read without 20/20 vision. If their target market is 10 - 14 year old boys, then they hit it perfectly. No one else outside those demographics should be able to stand the shit.

Needless to say, I won't be renewing my subscription this year. But I did receive my March and April issues just fine. The DVD's they send out make fine coasters.

8. As an avid EverQuest 2 fan, CGW pisses me off to no end.
Their coverage of EQ2 has been all but non existent since they first reviewed WoW and EQ2 side-by-side, gave them both 4.5 star reviews, but with a caveat that they liked WoW just a bit more.

That's fine and dandy, and they're entitled to their opinion, but EQ2 has now had TWO expansions to WoW's single expansion, and while WoW got several pages of coverage, EQ2 has hardly even been MENTIONED. No reviews for either expansion, nothing. Oh, and they also tend to fawn quite a bit over Guild Wars. I personally don't go for PVP, so that's another game I couldn't care less about.

And yeah, the whole mag seems to have taken a major step backwards in quality over the past couple of years. I really miss their tech guy, Will something or other. The new tech section is highly lacking.

web page?

PCgamer hides all their shit in their magazines, you go to their webpage it's like "want a sneak preview into what's in the magazine?"! Actually no, I want to read about the effing game now not buy your piece of shit magazine. WTF? It's called the internet you fuckwits, use it!
