Tabula Rasa
I received a copy of this MMORPG from a friend for the holidays, and just got around to trying it two weeks ago.

I have to admit that it's a really fun game. I hear the end-game is non-existent right now, but that doesn't bother me at the lower levels.

It's $10 on Amazon or GoGamer.com now. Anyone who's bored with the current crop of MMOs, who wants some space marine adventures, or who wants to see something different, I recommend picking it up and trying it for a month.

I'm just hoping it holds me over until Conan's live. :)

1. I tested the beta.

It looked great. The dynamic playfield (the mobs gaining control of bases which you have to re-take) was a clever idea, until you had quests to turn in.
I like the fact that you could repaint every single piece of armor you wore to customize your look. (Blizzard, are you paying attention?)

I didn't like that it was pretty much this: run up to a mob, press the 'crouch' button, and shoot 'em 'till they die. And for a game with supposedly little "grinding", there was tons of grinding in this game. And the whole "cloning" thing confused me to no end.

Then again, I only played the beta. Still looked pretty nice. Hope it gets a chance to break into the MMO WoW market.

2. Yeah, I'm just hitting the "grindy" levels now.
The 1-30 journey was very fun, but I hear it's downhill from here on out. Great game for quick runs with an established group, though.

3. Bump for TR's extra experience week: 5/5 - 5/12.
Yes, Tabula Rasa has a lot of flaws, but at the core it's a fun game. It's down to $10 for the software these days, so this week is a great time to give it a try.
