I just bought a Wii
Now what?...lol. It's for son's Christmas, so I have time to learn :silly:

Do I need a special t.v.? I want to put it in the guest room since it has the most room for gamey/arm swinging stuff, but the t.v. is only 21 inches hooked up to verizon fios.

I panicked thinking maybe it only works with a flat screen digital ?

Would love any advice, before I open the box.

Thanks :hi:

1. The old TV will work

It probably has component connections - the Red, White, and Yellow ones. That's the standard cabling that comes with the Wii. If your old TV doesn't have that, worst case is that you'll need to use a converter to the RF connection.

A larger TV will be more enjoyable though, in my opinion. For example, a number of multiplayer games, like Mario Kart Wii (great game, by the way!), split the screen horizontally for multiple players. You start running out of real estate fast on a small screen!

The Wii is the first 'game console' we've ever owned, and my 10 year old son loves it. When my wife and son were out of the country for 3 weeks last summer, I played an unhealthy amount of Mario Kart Wii to pass the time.

2. Thanks Grey....
My son is 35 and mentally challenged, hoping to get some of his slacker-fat off!

Most of our "games" have been too coach potato friendly these past 30 years. Oy.

Appreciate your help :hi:

3. You might want to check my "Wii Wecommendations?" thread out in this forum
Some folks have made some good recommendations there.

Maybe "Wii Fit" would be good in your sons case. It's been good for me! :)

4. You might try gettting Wii Fit.
Also Wii Sports (which comes with the Wii) has some fun games like a bowling game which will get him off the couch for a bit.

I always figured unless you have a prototype that is made out of vacuum tubes, then I don't see how that thing can work.
