http://techreport.com/articles.x/17048I got this from Slashdot. After I read it, I started thinking about all these things to put in a post here in support of it. Then I realized... I'm glad some one is justifying my love of games and trying to make it seem like I'm not wasting time :D

1. The people who say gamers waste their time watch a ton of tv...passively. |

Games are anything but passive. Yes, we're sitting there looking at a screen, but tv programs come to us with no thought or energy required on the viewer's part. But unlike tv, games can't function without your input. Games are actively engaging us and we have to respond back, whether it's a simple fighting game that requires memory of combos and good hand eye coordination, or the more complex strategy games that require everything from knowing how to use combined arms and the thickness of front armor, or juggling control of every aspect of a city, or even a whole world, politically and socially and militarily. Look at games like Civ, Pharaoh, Tropico, Populous, etc.
I dare someone to ask me to justify my gaming ways.
Cool article.
