The 50 most-anticipated video games
http://www.thestandard.com/news/2009/06/22/otx-gameplan-reveals-top-50-most-anticipated-video-games-based-purchase-intent

Right now, I have a PS3 and a POS PC, so I really only play PS3. Even if I had all of the platforms though, to be honest, there is not a lot there I am looking forward to.

New Super Mario Bros - Wii - Eventually I will probably have to get a Wii to play this.
Modern Warfare 2 - PS3 - I loved the first one, great game.
Gran Turismo 5 - PS3 - WTF? 5/10? The time it is taking for this has me worried.
Starcraft 2 - PC - I'm there, no question.

Thats really about it for me... seems like it should be more. The only other games I'm really excited about that are not on the list (that I can think of at the moment) are:

Diablo III - PC - Still a long way off, late 2010... maybe more. Blizzard tends to not release games till they are done.
The Un-named RPG from Big Huge Games - PC - No ETA but I expect it late this year or early next.

Thats it. Anyone know of something else I should be getting excited about?

2. Well... it is really hard for me to get excited about PC games
It has been a year since I've had a functioning PC that would let me do any gaming. I don't even look at them as much as I used to and the ones I do, not as close. It is so damn frustrating, hell, for eight months the only way I was even getting online was through my phone :( Soon though... My insurance company says they are finally getting ready to pay me and I can start re-building :D

3. Yeah, I went a long stretch with a low end PC.
Not always a bad thing as I prefer strategy games and they usually aren't system hogs, but I had to skip a handful of games I wanted to play. But it's sad to go into a game store and see one tiny section of PC games among thousands of console games. I think 9 of the last 10 games I got for the PC I've had to order.

5. Look,,,PC has been around forever and will continue to do so.
I gave up on the latest generation of consoles save the Wii...it's just too much fun.

Just remember what comes out for the XBox...comes out for the PC usually too.

What's at the top of that list Halo 3 Redux? Pffft...they were treating Halo 3 like it could cure cancer when it came out. Ask any experienced gamer who has been outside of the womb for over 25 years and isn't afraid to try big boy games...it's an above average shooter with some trite features.

When you can get the awesomeness of the Total War series into a platform I'll be amazed...(and I am totally NOT talking about that Spartan Total War crap that they released for the consoles.)

9. +1
Also, the PC has a much, much wider variety of seriously deep games. For example, was Baldur's Gate (either core game) ever ported to a console? No, NOT Dark Alliance, which should have been a NWN title. I'm talking about the actual BG games.

And the BG games are still considered the 'gold standard' of RPG games, in spite of their age. They're just pure awesome, even including the ability to play in the same party over a network or the internet. A co-op BG campaign? Yes, please.

Then there's games like Far Cry, Crysis, Oblivion, and Fallout 3. As i believe I've said before, the PC versions of these games are superior by default, because they all have the capability to play user mods and they all include an editor of some sort, unlike their console ports. I'll add a special note for Unreal: it has the developer's editor built in, which was itself used to make 'Bioshock' (with developer modifications, but it's still the Unreal engine) and 'Last Remnant'.

And then there's Steam.

PC gaming is by no means dead or dying. Its distribution system has changed, that's all.

6. This is what happens when the corporations take over. Innovation is created by enthusiastic,
dedicated, and skilled developers that love to play them. Once the corporations buy them up, they kill them.

There have been a couple of exceptions, but they were mistakes.

And require Vista...;(

4. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow looks amazing
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0y8F0dQM1DI

The graphics in the trailer are incredible and considering it is being produced by Hideo Kojima of Metal Gear Solid fame it is sure to have top notch production values. I loved the 2D Castlevania games and it looks like we are finally going to get a 3D Castlevania game that is done right.

7. For PS3
Tekken 6

Battle Field: Bad Company 2

Game of the Year edition of Fallout 3

I have heard rumor of a new Katamari game

Possibly Fat Princess, looks promising, but who knows

Whatever the next tower defense game is, Pixel Junk Monsters, Savage Moon, and Comet Crash are all really fun, especially Savage Moon

8. Katamari Forever is coming out in two or three months.
It will feature selectable graphic skins for the levels, such as classic, wood grain, and comic, some of the old levels along with a bunch of new ones, and full HD.

We Love Katamari was one of the best games on the PS2. I heard that a Katamari game was made for the Xbox (I believe it was named, "Beautiful Katamari"), but since the basic mechanics of Katamiri is based around the PlayStation controllers the Xbox version was really awkward.

10. I want a Katamari for the PC
and I want to be able to import custom models and textures. Katamari is lots of fun, but PC gamers cry when they see it.
