The Art of Video Games
http://www.artofvideogames.org/

The Smithsonian is holding a vote for which games it will include in an exhibition. The site is bad... really bad, I've been trying to get through the poll for over an hour now but the site keeps mucking up. I'm not even sure how many of my votes were counted. Also, the do require a valid email to vote but at least they do not seem to be spamming, not even a confirmation email.

Medal of Honor - revolutionized First person shooters

2. Yeah, it is a lot like any list of this type
Every person that looks at it is going to think "What the hell is that game doing on there?" and "Where the hell is X?". Over all, they did not do a horrible selection, not great either but ok. I think they also made the categories pretty badly, I'm not sure I like what they call them and also think some of the games are in the wrong place. Plus, they left out some systems I would like to have seen included, Atari 800 series, TG-16 and even the Jaguar.

3. meh, some of their selections were terrible.
popularity does not necessarily equal art. and further, certain games are so pivotal in changing the conception of what can be done that they are of greater art value for their conceptual revolution than for their nascent realization/execution.

i expect crapola to float to the surface from this exhibit...
