Huge Cutbacks in Local DSHS

I'm in Washington State. First my caseworker who has been trying to raise my coverage from the state from GAU to GAX (medicaid coverage)because of PTSD from chronic illness was let go. She told me that she had been trying to call local Social Health Services office but that they have laid off 4 caseworkers there in the last week and that no one is answering phones. This is a joke, they are operating on corporate business practices at a time when need multiplies exponentially. I had to go there myself, a caseworker is of no assistance because their calls will absolutely not be returned at this time.

It sucks that the people that need help are losing out, when corrupt bankers are cashing in. I'm glad you were able to go there in person. Who knows what will happen to people that can't leave their homes.

2. Make and keep as good a paper trail as you can - from medical info to interactions with DSHS.

Get it in writing. Especially your medical visits. That's usually the record of note when looking at a case. I'm in CA but it's probably similar everywhere. Good Luck, hang in there!
