1. "Murder on the Blackboard"
It looks as though TCM is running the Hildegarde Withers series on Saturday mornings in October (Last week's selection was The Penguin Pool Murder. I never heard of Hildegarde Withers until well after I'd seen Edna May Oliver in various other movies, and of course read the write-up in the Leonard Maltin DVD and video guides.

Oliver is nicely paired with James Gleason, as Inspector Oscar Piper, a sparring partner and of course fellow crime-solver.
