Can anyone recommend a cell phone service provider?
I didn't see any categories in the progressive pages.

2. Earthtones OR Working Assets
Both have sites, compare the plans. I'm planning on changing (from SBC) when my contract is up.

3. Link For Earthtones and Note: They Also Sell Calling Cards

Pre-paid calling cards make GREAT gifts for any students on your list, or you can send one to a soldier at Walter Reed since effin' Bushco won't pay for their holiday calls home.

I'm leaning towards them when I change service because they offer free recycled phones. I don't care if my phone has all the bells and whistles, just want it to WORK!

4. Thanks for the feedback! I agree
about using a recycled phone. I had to get a new phone when I was forced to switch to Verizon (at the time they were the only service covering the whole state and I was traveling every week). Fortunately, my brother gave me his hand-me-down Verizon phone but it died about a week after the warranty was up and now they are trying to get me to buy a new camera phone at a discount in exchange for another year-long contract.

I will be glad to give up Verizon.

Earth Tones looks like the perfect option. I'm pretty sure I'll sign up with them.

5. sigh... so, I'm supposed to pay more for poorer service?
There is a point where I'm going to get rebellious about this. We have cell service through Qwest... not great, but not bad, either, especially considering that Qwest is a union shop.

I don't so much care about bells and whistles - I don't use the camera much on the phone I have - but text messaging is rather a given with all of the services we've looked at. I'm surprised that it's such an issue that Earthtones and Working assets don't provide it.

So, I hate to do it, but I think we'll just wait for these services to catch up to our minimum standards.
