2. The local Sam Ash has one. |

I like the look, but not sure about the cost/value. And maybe I'm just old school, but I have a hard time imagining a Fernandes actually being worth that much.
If I were gonna spend that much I'd buy a V-neck Strat or spend a couple hundred more and get a Godin Montreal.

4. that sustainer is amazing tho ... |
|
The only models you find it on are their top-end. I think it would take a wall of old Oranges or Hiwatts to get that kind of sustain.

3. I'd really like a guitar with a Fernandez Sustainer...... |
|
...but I don't like the look. Too pointy. I count no less than 3 points.
GAC? Your thoughts?

trust me. The Sustainer is a much better idea than reality. A friend gave me one because I am quite adept with ebows, drones, etc. He thought the problem was with him, not the guitar. He was wrong. The primary problem is that once you turn on the Sustainer (actually the neck pick up) the thing is just...on. On all 6 strings. Even the ebow allows some semblance of "attack" by moving it closer to the pick up. This is not the case with the Sustainer. The damn thing just starts resonating until you switch it off (or the battery runs out) and gives the player little control. Sure, I found a couple of neat uses for it, but it really isn't worth the trouble. I gave it back to my friend. I told him that otherwise I would just sell it and buy drugs and a useable piece of gear with the proceeds. Oh, and the bridge pick up sounds pretty chintzy (and not in a good way) :)

6. Don't Like It Either. I Know You're Not Going To Believe This. . . |
|
. . .but, it's too pointy. The points are superfluous and gratuitous. I don't like either the one on the lower bout, nor do i like the one at the base of the body. Just looks overdone. And i greatly prefer the look of double cutaways.
When you see my stuff, you'll know my stuff isn't really THAT pointy. Just highly contoured with deep cutaways, is all.
