1. My first degree is in Vocal Music

but I sucked at composition (just as my Musicology prof). I did have 7 semester of theory, though, including Reductive Analysis, Modal Counterpoint and Canon & Fugue (at which our final project was to write a fugue . . . arggghhh!!!).

2. I've been a staff writer for music publishers

for the last 12 years or so.

I don't claim "composer," but I do write songs--music and lyrics.
