Anybody else notice the intellectual level of opponent criticism has really lowered in this |

election? I am really tired of the "McCain "cheated" nanny nanny boobo! aspects of this race. I find it juvenile. I remember people mocking Bush but I remember mostly their going after him for his positions and actions.I also remember folks being quick to criticize Kerry(or the Kerry campaign) when he deserved it but this cycle? Not so much. It seems like grade school!

we elected the last president in the strength of who you'd like to drink a beer with. I mean - don't get me wrong - I'd like to hear WAY MORE in-depth stuff about how the candidates might address this problem or that. Thing is, there's an alarmingly large body of voters who are voting with the same acumen as they would exercize in selecting a spouse. And where's the national divorce rate at???

5. And It's WORSE Than MOST Think... Watching C-Span This AM I Am Further |

distressed! I posted at General Discussion about Bill Allison of The Sunlight Foundation and what he and his foundation do and what they uncover about "our" politicians!
I suppose I'm one of the very few people who still feel that John Edwards has a good heart even if he fell prey to the temptation of millions and millions of other people. Many in high offices too, and many we will NEVER know about. Still he will have to pay the piper, but I'm distressed that he was targeted so ferociously! To me, much of it was his fight against Big Corp that made this such a HUGE "get!" I recall other Presidents who have gone down in history as some of the GREATEST, and they did a lot of "dipping" of their own. Roosevelt, Eisenhower and Clinton come to mind, but there are more! And they hid and/or lied about it at the time!
Regardless, I'm even more distressed by checking out the information at Sunlight, a comparable foundation like Open Secrets.
AND... while watching Women's Volley Ball last night when Walsh & May-Treaner won the gold, I almost puked when Walsh "needed" to say something. Out of her mouth came "thank you Mr. President!" Don't know what to make of it, maybe she was just representing our country, but it made me wonder! Does she STILL admire him?
Too bad that too many Americans are so ill-informed and only live for the next "personal scandal" to peak their interest!
