A shout-out to Edwards' supporters. |
|
Hillary said in her speech at the convention: "... if you voted for Barack or voted for me ..." making me realize there are plenty of supporters of other candidates that are feeling some pain about now.
I am so sorry you felt that crushing disappointment twofold and I wanted you to know others see it and feel for you. Please accept this most heartfelt cyberhug from me.

I really missed Elizabeth and John at the convention. I thought of them a lot last week and wondered what it must be like for them to be watching it. That must have been hard.
It was very kind of you to post this. Thanks!

6. I'm still upset with John's actions |
|
I will get over it when Obama wins this Nov.. John got by far the most money Marta and I had kicked into a candidate ever. Plus our time helping in the Jan. Iowa caucus. He got an extra $100 right after he said he was in for the long haul. 48 hours later it ended. Did a Democrat black mail him about the affair to force him out?

7. I don't think he was blackmailed but I do think something happened. |
|
He knew he was losing badly so maybe that is all there is to the story? I don't know if we will ever find out the whole truth to this matter. We certainly can't trust him to tell us the truth.
What always bothered me more than him dropping out was the lackluster speech he gave when he did. Knowing what we do now, no wonder. This was a man very, very troubled. He was haunted by his own demons.
It is quite sad but I can say that I'm very much over it. I don't look at him the same way I used to so I'm not even all that disappointed anymore.

I keep mentioning this--not because I know what happened behind the scenes (we will most probably never know), but because I can't help but think this had something to do with it, and we need to remember this and work to get our government back.
A week before he suspended, if you remember, there was an UGLY, THREATENING letter from the head of the national Chamber of Commerce. He made it clear they weren't going to tolerate candidates speaking against corporations.
For several of us, our radar was activated, and we were concerned for the safety of the Edwards. A few days later, Cate was in a car wreck, and then John pulled out of the race.
Coincidence?
I doubt it....

12. I am sick to the core, that John's recklessness neutralized dear Elizabeth. We sure could use |
|
her voice and great strategic mind to counter Palin's red meat performance.
I hope that Elizabeth changes her mind and does whatever she can to contribute.
In the meantime, John's tin ear and lack of respect for those elected philanderers and cheaters who went before him and were caught, is mystifying and disloyal.
I am talking about the second cheating. You know. The cheating after the cheating. Sort of like having a second baby out-of-wedlock.... just plain stupid and wrong.

Her spirit, candor, intelligence, and integrity are all desperately needed now. What a contrast to Palin. Elizabeth has to do whatever is right for her, and if she needs to step back from the spotlight, I understand. But we sure could use her voice among all the red meat babble.

16. I'm STILL Feeling The Pain! While I Wasn't Going To Vote This Time |
|
around, after PALIN I can't "Not Vote!" Regardless of what was done, when I think of ALL THE OTHER people who had been caught up with something like this, the job they did on JRE was OVER THE TOP!!
And yes, he was wrong, and there's NO EXCUSE really, but it happened... still I feel he would have made the VERY BEST President!!
I'm still here!

I also was going to sit out this election or vote for JE in November, but the thought of McCain being president and appointing Supreme Court justices - and Palin being a heart beat away from the oval office - made me think again. That simply cannot happen. But I agree, JE would have been a terrific president, and it still hurts that he is not going to be our candidate in the GE.
BTW, good to see you here ChiciB1.

18. Thanks... I've Checked In Here From Time To Time & Posted A Little... |
|
But I did drop out for the most part. Have only started back this past month and even have been posting at other forums. Didn't think I would. I've signed up for the "alternative" sites since JRE, but haven't done anything there yet. Noticed EENR will be changing it's name and after this election I plan to do more there and OldElmTree.
I've always liked Joe Biden, but what really compelled me to jump back in is Sarah Palin! Words can't describe my outrage at having to fight back against this stuff all over again. I recall hearing Obama say during an interview recently when asked about McLoonery & his Pal-In that he didn't think the American people would be fooled by them! Maybe he knows something I don't, but LOOK where we are now? Fraudulent elections, lies, cover-ups, ignoring the Constitution, signing statements... we could go on and on, like FOREVER... SOMEBODY has been VERY STUPID! I've decided it's THE PEOPLE who have let this happen for so long. I realize our voices have been ignored by Washington D.C., and they hold the power, but there has been far too much APATHY by the citizens. I just CAN'T stand by without saying I tried... one more time! If they get elected, or steal one again, I say Storm The Bastille, Viva Revolution or an uprising of some sort!
Besides, my grandson said I had too! Ha, Ha... joke's on me! He's 19 and I've preached activism for so long so he threw it back at me! I'm out there trying and I know it has to be done, but my heart doesn't beat that loud these days. They say things happen for a reason, but I've never met "they." Could it be as simple as Elizabeth really needing the comfort of John's shoulder right now? It's a spiritual thought anyway.
Anyway, I'm still hanging around and glad that I was part of something we all believed in. Thanks you "Miss Deeds" for the welcome! Still missing all of it!
