Democratic Underground Blog on First Presidential Primary: What We're All About

Rocky Rhoades of the blog Democratic Underground covered our First Presidential Primary in the Nation straw poll in Salinas Sunday. He has a great post on it, with lots of details and photos. And he totally gets what we're all about around here:

And once the numbers were announced I saw an amazing sight, everyone shaking hands, hugging, saying congratulations to winners and heart felt condolences to the also rans. Even though I am a diehard Edwards supporter, I was really happy for the Obama and Hillary supporters, thrilled at their victory. As the Obama supporters were dancing to Kool and the Gang on the big Sherwood Hall stage, I danced with all of them in spirit.

By the end we were all celebrating together, all of us hard working Dems, all, in this fight together. That’s what I learned, were all one big family. I went there to work for Edwards, and came away, working for our Democratic Party.

Thought I'd share this with you guys. (And really, honestly, I didn't tell them I was "with" DU, I told them I blogged on DU. But here's a tip, it helped me get an all access pass.)

Thanks for sharing. I've driven thru "downtown" Salinas once and I confess I was having a hard time granting it a place of political fervor. But then it's hard to tell much from a car seat at 15MPH! Lotsa AG tho! That you can surely see.
