Justice is what leads to peace.

Justice at home leads to justice abroad.

Justice starts with equality of economic opportunity.

Short and sweet, powerful and true, idealistic and practical.

This is the heart of what it means to be a Democrat. This is the program that has brought the party the greatest success over the years.

Edwards gives us the opportunity to be Democrats again, without apology. Edwards gives us the opportunity to break out of the "practicality versus idealism" trap. Idealism is the most practical course, as well, when we build a strong foundation of traditional Democratic party principles and ideals to stand upon.

Liberty requires opportunity to make a living—a living decent according to the standard of the time, a living which gives man not only enough to live by, but something to live for. Thanks guys for the support. I think I hijacked Indy's thread here!

I have a strong feeling that many supporters of the other "second tier" candidates are potential allies. No sense in pissing them off if we don't need to.

Push the ideas and the support for Edwards will follow. There are Edwards critics who are antagonistic to the ideas he is expressing, but hide behind other reaasons to criticize him. That is easy to refute - we don't need to push Edwards, just push the core values of the party.

You're so right, and having just finished reading Four Trials, I really get more where Edwards is coming from with "killing them with kindness".
