I am so glad he didn't endorse anyone. Now I can go to bed early and watch the tape in the morning. :toast:

This was by far the smartest thing for him to do.

I was inclined not to watch it because I'm not crazy about Leno, but I couldn't resist. The interview was very good. It seemed like Leno just had him on because he wanted to hear what he had to say. John didn't have anything in particular he was pushing - no new book or anything. Leno asked him several questions about issues. It gave me a better opinion of Jay Leno, honestly. I'm sure it will be up on YouTube tomorrow. Anyone that didn't get to see it, I recommend you check it out.
At the end of the interview, Leno asked him if he was thinking of running again. He said he wasn't thinking about it but "never say never". Something to look forward to, maybe. :)

6. and in one of the threads in GDP |

one of the almighty's supporters said that he "thought" that the interview favored obama.:wtf: I thought John was very careful not to leave an impression one way or the other. The ONLY really positive talk was about Gore.

7. I do think he slightly |
|
favored Obama but mostly it was about Gore. Him and Gore -- and making a difference. He's not going to endorse anyone because he's above them AND he wants to be able to work with whoever wins. That's great. He's not going to abandon the poor or his "life's work." Like Gore, he WILL make a difference and he's going to do what's best... meaning: whatever is going to put him in the best position to make that difference. Even if it means running again. (Yeah!)

8. Sorry, but you're delusional if you think Edwards favored Obama. He was very measured |
|
in what he said about both candidates.
I wish people would look at all these candidates rationally and without emotion! This cult stuff on DU is getting really OLD! :argh:

Not me. Maybe it was Leno with the mock video of Obama's visit and basketball talk. Anyway, if you add up the time spent on O vs. the JRE time spent with his more measured discussion of HRC, you will see a big difference in the number of minutes. In no way though did he imply he preferred O or would in any way endorse him. Jay just spent more time on O and JRE seemed to have fun with it -- the mock video of his visit and all the basketball talk. But he equally complimented Hillary.
Don't you know I'm cult Edwards ;-) ???

11. Sorry to jump the gun with you-but there are Obama cultists around DU who aren't living in reality. |
|
I think Jay Leno made a big deal about Obama to get a joke out of it, and Edwards just smilingly played along.
Nothing more nothing less.

9. It was so refreshing to hear honesty. I think he was very, very careful |
|
not to endorse either candidate. Very nice to hear that no matter what, he's still going to work on the issues of poverty.. Great stuff.. Made feel better. If this man is around making as big of a splash as Al Gore with the environment.. then the whole country will move towards solving real problems.. Funny isn't it that Al is more popular than Bush ever thinks he is in his mind.. and Edwards will most likely be a much more monumental figure than either of these two "historical" candidates ever thought they could be.
